I'm not going to fall into the hype but

    Paul
    Harden
    Butler
    Tuck
    Horford

    That is a deadly lineup.

If they bring back Rivers too as the 6th man. Yikes

    But it's not happening

Yeah, if we somehow just get Butler we should be very very happy.

@DaBeard i think he's talking about that Philly dude's tweet you and others posted today, the one who said there's a rumor circulating in Philly about Butler coming here.

No. I’m saying that Houston needs to open up cap space if they intend to sign Horford. Any trade that doesn’t make us take back salary is great. Since Horford is on his way out and BOS is engaged with Houston about Capela I don’t see why Capela for a pick wouldn’t be enough to get it done.

Houston is willing to pay well into the luxury tax and will almost certainly be hard capped.
It’s going to take a sign and trade with Philly to get Butler which will certainly include Gordon. As far as Horford goes it’s going to involve making room for his salary which means moving Capela and Nene to a team with cap room to make it happen.

with Horford gone. Celtics need a center

trade Capela, 2nd round pick to Boston for Jaylen Brown, 1st round pick and Aron Baynes

let's meet with DeAndre Jordan to see if he'll take a home town discount.

trade Gordon, Nene & 2 first round picks to Philly for Butler

    CP3
    Harden
    Butler
    Tucker
    Jordan

    Brown
    Baynes

I have given this zero shot of happening, and still do, but I can’t deny there seems to be plenty of smoke with this.

He opts in and we trade for him. He plays out the final year with us and we resign him for the max next summer. Basically the CP3 trade all over again.

Would Butler's agent risk this. What if he gets injured or whatever, is the Rockets going to honor signing him

It's too obvious and that makes me think he's using H-Town as leverage to force Philly to pay him. Hope I'm wrong but that's the feeling I get.

He signed a 34 year old to a 40 million per year contract. What do you think?

Also, agents work for players. If Jimmy wants to be in Houston, he will be.

Butler is 29. He will get his deal .. and how many 29 year olds tear their Achilles’ tendon?

Sure a knee injury is possible .. but Butler will more than likely get his deal next year if he wanted
