I think you're making it too difficult here larsv, pretty sure the Sixers would gladly take back Gordon instead of a mediocre pick, Eric would fit just perfectly there, probably the best replacement to Butler they can realistically get, i don't think they could do better than that in free agency, Middleton is not walking through that door...

 

I don’t think you’ll even need a third team in a trade for Butler. They’re about to lose JJ and Butler without cap space to replace those two at the 2. Getting Gordon back to be their starting SG is not bad.

 

The bigger issues with Butler are the same things they've always been; 1) him wanting to come here and 2)him opting in to his last year.

 

I think if you explain its just a logistics issue and you will give him his max deal after, he would do it.

Not been in this thread. Why are people slobbering all over Al Horford? He’s a nice player at this point. Not a huge improvement. Other than he can space the floor while still playing the 5.

Im all about playoffs. But also recognize you got to get there, get good seeding, etc. Plus Horford didn’t play against GSW in playoffs ever. Plus GSW won’t be the GSW next year.
