Send him to the Jazz for Joe Ingles and some pieces.
You get a tall long reliable ball handler that can shoot the three and defend well.

I feel you. At least admit you're putting in 2 cents without any knowledge. This forum is better than ESPN. Don't sink to that level.

bottom line, if we can't get rid of him without hurting the team, we shouldn't. And i'd bet there's no way to get rid of him without hurting the team. No way we get rid of him without hurting our chances next year, or in the long-run. So it's time for all the rockets fans to accept the reality of CP3 for 3 more years. Accept that for what it is. But on the plus side, after 2 more years CP3's contract will be looked at as one of the most valuable assets in the NBA. And he's still a high-quality PG for next season (as long as he stays healthy).

CP3 had the ball in his hands much more the year before. We passed the ball more. We were a better offense. Harden can play well off-the ball. And with age becoming more of an issue across our roster, we can't be playing guys like EG, CP3 and PJ extremely heavy minuets anymore.

We need to get back to having great depth and a better balance of ball-movement with Harden hero-ball. When CP3 is in the game, he needs to be running the point. I was very frustrated with the way MDA used CP3 this year.

It's not a bad idea... except, you'd have to include Ingles, Exum (whose contract would actually be an asset as its non-guaranteed, not sure of that guarantee date), Crowder, then still take him into space.

Would the Jazz give up that much for CP3?

Also the reports about the Jazz after Mike Conley are because Conley is currently younger, better and cheaper (much, if you factor in contract length).

CP3 is going the route of D.Howard(refusing to PnR) by refusing to be a catch and shoot distributor. Harden puts in work to become a very good shooter but CP3 can't put in the work to learn to catch and shoot?!? CP3 needs to realizing he's getting older and can't drive and dish forever. Needs to let Harden facilitate more and learn to catch and shoot to prolong his career at a high level or he going out just like D.Howard.

The case is we don't have a better option.

    We aren't getting a package.
The best package I see us getting is expiring contracts and even that is not a definite. But if we can't trade him.thos year. We definitely won't be able to the next 2.

We get an expirings we throw away next season and but then we have the cap space to try again in 20-21.
We don't and we probably have a weaker team next year but GSW aren't the same team either. Maybe we compete maybe we get really lucky. But we then throw away the next 2 years.

Paul gets to play with his pupil Mitchell... Whatever the deal is with Ingles as the centerpiece is fine. It would be the best the Rockets could do to shed Paul's contract imo. And who knows it might work out for the best... Ingle's game is a jack of all trades. While he isn't on par with Ariza on defense he is good enough while being better then Ariza at everything else..

CP3 having the ball in his hands does not make you better than having the ball in Harden's hands.

Hell CP3 cant even beat big men anymore …. all to often he's taking a contested jumpshot in those "mismatches".

The Rockets are 18-0 this season when cp3 has double digit assists. And in the two years that hes been here that now makes it 33-1.

so whatever you want to make yourself believe, good things do happen when cp3 has the ball in his hands and creating opportunities for this team

i was gonna say that relegating CP3 to a jumpshooter is not wise basketball. why not take advantage of his HOF point guard skills. He runs the court well. Harden can still play plenty of minutes as the PG. We shouldn't be playing CP3 more than 30 min a night anyway.

I don't disagree with you in principal …. putting the ball in CP3's hands isn't a bad option , its just not as good an option as letting Harden go to work and create for himself or others.

My only real complaint is that 30%+ of the cap for 12 minutes of CP3 isn't a good allocation of funds when you have a salary cap. That's the 12 minutes a game Harden is off the court , the other 20ish minutes he's playing next to Harden he's really average at best.

We're probably stuck with him so the point is moot …. They have to figure out how to make each other more effective. Ideally you'd add a high percentage shooter on the wing and it probably solves most of the problems.
