We’re not trading any of our core 5 (harden, CP, Gordon, Tucker, Capela). We’d be stupid to trade any of them unless we got an upgrade on Capela or an amazing deal for CP

Since I stated Rockets starting 5 (on another thread) would be :
    Beverley..Harden..Tucker..James Johnson...Capela

Guess I have to say yes Rockets move CP3.
Rockets trade: CP3 multiple 1st round picks (2019/2020 1st eligible for trade after draft next week)
    x
Ryan Anderson/James Johnson (I would rather have Josh Richardson, but I doubt Heat give him up).
July 1st or after on re-obtaining Ryan Anderson.

Heat: believe CP3 would create a beast in Whiteside with PnR and PnPop. Bring a positive over defensive liability.
Also bring out the best in Winslow/Richardson/Bam/Waiters.
Rockets 1st rd pick (2020) helps the Heat move Dragic before or during the season......for added help.

Rockets: build depth from added cap space by waiving Ryan Anderson. Keep most of last yrs team together.

**Re-sign D. House. Season numbers were comparable or better than half the SF’s in the league. SF’s run about
    $15M easy nowadays.....hopefully Rockets could re-sign House from $5M to 9M.
**Sign Beverley from $5M to $7M
**Sign JaVale MeGee to less than $3M
**Possibly re-sign Faried if D’Antoni is gone....probably lost faith in D’Antoni and won’t re-sign if Coach remains.
    **Up to $132M-ish......then re-sign Gerald Green.......Shumpert (I think D’Antoni wants Shump but others don’t)
Early Bird rights on GG........Full Bird rights on Shumpert.
Rockets could be operating near $140M to $145M for most of the season.

    Starters
    Beverley............Harden.......Tucker/House/EGo......Tucker/James Johnson...........Capela
    Reserves
    Eric Gordon..........GGreen.......House/Clark..........Tucker/ Gary Clark......JaVale MeGee/ Hartenstein
    Frazier
    (12 players)
possibly Eric Gordon trade to afford a possible Tobias Harris type FA. Someone that can create pts for himself since CP3 would be gone.

Send Nene in CP3 deal for non guaranteed contracts equivalent.

    Or maybe ....

LeBron convinces management to deal Kuzma for CP3.
Lakers LeBron....trade for AD......sign Butler (brings them to $109M)......then sign
JJ Redick/Ariza/Melo/Crawford/etc. up to $132M approx....
then trade Kuzma for CP3 since they have too many PF’s. Lakers net $300 million each yr. They can
have the crazy payroll and luxury tax madness more than any team.

Allows Houston to clean a big part of the slate. Banana Boat 3/4 together (LeBron/Melo/CP3).......
A guy could dream, right. Lakers taking CP3 off our hands and we get Kuzma!!

Trade Capela to Boston for Marcus Smart, Robert Williams, 1 or 2 future 1st round pick(s), 1 or 2 future 2nd round pick(s)

If we trade CP3 and/or Gordon, then the team should try to get:
-A Stretch 4 who can rebound and defend
-2nd ball handler when Harden sits
    -3 and D playoff proven guard/forward
    -1st round pick if possible
    -2nd round pick(s)
-Equal or more salary for more trades later

    Trade Idea:

Magic Get: Chris Paul, Eric Gordon, 2 firsts

Rockets Get: Even Fournier, Aaron Gordon

Edited: sorry got carried away in that fantasy scenario. Lakers would not be able to trade just Kuzma for CP3 after signing Jimmy Butler. Oops.

I guess the idea is that we might sign DeAndre with the MLE in free agency, i think it's a realistic scenario cause i can see him being ok for that money to come home and start. Clutch's idea is actually good, cause Bazemore is probably one of the most similar players to Ariza you can find so, in a single trade you'd get a young prospect with upside and a solid starter expiring (which means he would be an asset too) while replacing Capela with a similar player but cheaper, the problem is rumors are pointing to Atlanta trying to trade up, and they have multiple picks so...

    I would like to see...

HOU trades Clint to BOS & a pick
BOS trades Smart & Jaylen to HOU

    HOU trades EG to IND
IND trades Sabonis and Doug McDermott.
    *Not sure realistic*

    HOU trades EG to MIN
MIN trades Saric and Dieng and a pick:

Sign Nerlens Noel or DeAndre Jordan or Dedmon and split the MLE with House.

Try to sign CJ Miles/Mike Scott/ Tolliver

If they don't, our locker room is going to be cancer next year.

With all the trade talks in the off-season so far and rumors/sources from the media talking about how Chris wants to be traded to the Lakers.

Next year is going to be like the Dwightmare season unless we make some big moves. If we just run it back, people here will be crying for us to tank 15 games into the season.

If this is Thunder, we could have higher expectation.

I was thinking in a similar way but not the same... my prediction (idea) is:
    1. Trade CP3 for Kuzma+Bonga+2nd round picks(since LAL would not be able to deal any of their #1 picks), generate $18M cap space.
    2. Trade EG for Brunson to make enougu room for MAX FA.
    3. Sign Jimmy Butler

Line up will be: Harden, Jimmy, Capela, Tucker, Kuzma, Brunson and others.
The Rockets stay competitive, get younger and financial situation get even better.

It would be nice......Lakers may end up screwing things up. Now I’m reading the Lakers want to go hard for Kawhi.

Kawhi, Butler and Kemba........sometimes when you ask 3 girls to the dance, they sense they are the
lesser option of the others and go elsewhere. Maybe Jimmy Butler falls into our laps.

Just saw this and really like it. I am in, just break up that massive contract into more manageable pieces. The trade is not ideal but palatable compared to more of what last year brought us. Paul publicity wants out, too. Fireworks means a shitfest. LaBron has never come to our rescue. Move him while we can. ASAP!!!

If the Rockets are going to run this team back:
Sign Jamychael Green to the MLE.
If the Rockets are trading Eric Gordon:
Try and get one of the 76'ers- Harris, or Butler.
If the Rockets are trading Capela:
Kick the tires on Al Horford.
Kick the tires on Bazemore/pick and one of the other centers on Atlanta's roster.
If the Rockets are trading Chris Paul:
See if the Lakers will be open to moving Kuzma and creating a large trade exception to pick up someone like Julius Randle.

Under all circumstances, hope and pray you can re-sign Danuel House without using the MLE.

Morey tried to get both. There was not a single piece in our offer to the Clippers that was better than Victor Olidipo to Indiana.
