Bellinger can't hit to the opposite field. There are quite a few good hitters that are just pull hitters. Being able to hit opposite field is a very good sign though and most hitters that have power to opposite field are good hitters.

My parents are in Sunday School class with Bill Brown. And they introduced me today.

Bill brown said dodgers out bid us for Alvarez as we know.
Then later on we told the Dodgers we want Alvarez. And they said y’all can’t have Alvarez the pitcher. They had one in the minors.
And we said no the outfielder named Alvarez.
Dodgers said okay. But we want Josh fields.

    Such a nice man

The probably was that in all of baseball history, no one has kept a career up of homering in 75-80% of their games. Short term spurts, absolutely. As we saw today, no homer, and he was fooled on his strikeouts. He’s almost 22 and a rookie. This week has been amazing and he should be AL player of the week. He’ll have his ups and downs, no doubt.

It takes two to tango and cash, which works against him, however, I think every ball player would prefer Bonds off the books and that works in his favor. So it's entirely possible they will pitch to him as he approaches the record.

I wouldnt mind giving up his 1,000th career HR but i wouldnt want to give up his 100th HR of a single season.

Since Alvarez had an off game yesterday he's currently at a HR in 66% of his games. This would put him at 59 HR for 2019. So at a 66% clip going forward we should look forward to 2026 as the year to break the record. Hopefully he can have it in the bag before his rookie deal is over.

    2019 59 HR
    2020 106 HR
    2021 106 HR
    2022 106 HR
    2023 106 HR
    2024 106 HR
    2025 106 HR
    2026 106 HR

He'll hit multiple homeruns in some of those 66% games.

Yeah. His pace is definitely impossible to keep up with, but remember, he's yet to have a multi-homer game, and throughout his career he'll still have plenty of those.

Sorry, but players don't just plateau at a single increasing percent, they get better. You need to re-run those numbers taking into account HR inflation, over the past few years and projected into the future.

    Here's some raw numbers: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/hitting/hihr6.shtml

Remember he's just entering his prime in '24 and beyond, I think you're really underselling his historic abilities.

Oh no, he's dropped to the 98th percentile in pitches thrown in the zone.

    Baseball savant.

Garrett is the only pitcher that I think has really gone after Alvarez. A couple other Reds threw him strikes, but those appeared to still be typical of those thrown to a feared hitter. I don't think Alvarez will keep getting so few strikes, but I don't see him getting treated like Kemp (someone pitchers don't fear) either.
