I could see them giving the Lowry treatment to Gordon and flipping him for a top 20 - contingent on that pick being sent right back out with additional baggage (Cp3 or Capela) to target a trade with the 76ers for butler.
who could we even get in return from the celtics to match capela's salary? forget horford, tatum, brown, or smart since the Cs are adding a pick to get capela. Hayward is the only one left. We'd have to add a filler to match hayward... tucker isn't enough to match... the vet min squad isn't enough to match... would have to be gordon. That seems like too much to take on haywards contract and give up capela and ego just for #14. I would want a young big or two like williams, yabusele, ojeleye, or #20 included. i can see something like capela/ego for hayward/#14/sweetener. we aren't going to win any trade with ainge so don't expect a thrilling return. I guess the gamble would be if hayward can get back to pre-injury form like PG did. taking on that contract though makes me wonder if there really is a CP3 trade lined up after this. i can't imagine adding hayward while keeping CP3. neither will earn their salary next season. that's just not a moreyball way to build a team.
Tyler Herro would come in and instantly be a contributor. Hes Chandler Parsons without the ego, and a much, much better shooter.
