Wait - how hard should he be slapped? - we don't want anyone getting hurt Except for draymond Green amirite? Crotch kicker, eye gouger, major Azz hole. Come on YOLO, YOLO! For every other player- I agree with you.
Serious question, how old are you? I've been to games where a player has seriously gotten injured and not once did I think I need to cheer this on because I'm really into this game. In fact, the games I been too, when a player gets hurt, the crowd usually goes silent. They don't start cheering. So i think you are an outlier.
This was an unusual circumstance, given the stakes. Maybe Toronto is different, but my guess is that there would have been similar reactions under the same circumstances in other arenas too.
unfortunately, its just further confirmation there's a bunch of weirdos that exist in this world. case in point
My immediate reaction was that I knew he shouldn't have played in that game. I felt bad for Durant. That reaction shifted to disgust when I saw the fans cheering and waving goodbye.
That would be correct in the earlier part of this incident. But in this particular part of the video, they are no longer cheering, more like an ovation (and even chanting KD). Happens in almost all arena, when an injured player is being led out of the court. It just so happen there is that initial cheering reaction from some of the fans.
Fans usually go silent if it’s a fall or some other big injury like the kind that Gordon Hayward sustained. Once the stretchers come out, I don’t think anyone would cheer. Durant limping to the sideline is totally different from a visual perspective. I don’t think they should have cheered but I wouldn’t make a sweeping judgment towards a whole fanbase.
Hope for Durant -- Sanders is already 100% after 2 surgeries -- different sports but similar cutting/ sprinting. https://sports.yahoo.com/denver-bro...njury-ankle-surgery-vic-fangio-022221663.html
I'm just talking about him already being 100% in training camp -- he tore it in Dec so that is a fast recovery at 32 yo.
Very interesting his Right Achilles is NOT his dominant driving foot. Dominique Wilkins came back from a Right Achilles tear and was still dominant. Kobe Bryant, Demarcus Cousins, Rudy Gay tore their Left Achilles, and declined quite a bit
His Tupac Tattoo on his Right Leg I think is a factor also, all those needle punctures on his calf, a Plus Ink.
