Bev is a descent shooter and defender but he’s not the answer to winning a championship. He has grit for sure, but his ball handling and ability to drive past defenders is subpar. And as pointed out, he’s injury prone. Last year he averaged 7 ppg, the lowest since he came into the league. Is he really the answer? I don’t so. I would also add that Bev was outplayed by two rookies last year, Shamet and Gilgeous-Alexander. Proof that Morey should consider developing a young player rather than going with a veteran on the downside of his career that was traded away because he wasn’t the answer at PG.
Paul will be 35 next year. Bench needs to be 2 times better than rivers, faried, house, green. Bev market value is 9 million a year. Trade paul first, then fill the blank.
What is the KD situation ? I know he's injured pretty badly , and of course teams will respond to that in the marketplace . But as far as making concrete decisions that definitely hasn't happened yet . Do you think KD won't get the max ? Does this increase or decrease the chance he stays with GS ? What's the prognosis for him being any good next year , pretty low What's the prognosis on him being at his current level in 2-3 years ... pretty low too lol. This isn't as bad for KD as it was for Kobe , KD has always been a great shooter and he's tall . Defensively there might be some serious questions , KD was a pretty damn good defender , but that's cause of his length and quickness combination ... not his strength . Someone will pay him well , but the max is a heavy risk . He is already over 30 and it is likely that he will never be this good again . I know his age is the same regardless , but he was a solid bet to stay at a high level if healthy . Yeah , KD's Achilles is a big shock to the system . No clue how it effects things yet
I like the guy but I don't see his signing making an impact. Let another team overpay for him. If they want to reunite with anyone let it be Trevor Ariza on a reasonable deal.
Unless the Rockets are moving someone on the roster to add a long 3/4 or possibly 2; I cannot see using the full T-MLE on PBev. PBev is 31 years old. Offensively he does nothing but hit 3's. He obviously has a great attitude, hustles and is a very good defender and can play man defense. Still, if the Rockets offer him the full # of years at the T-MLE, he is possible IF the Rockets address their other issues through trade.
never liked bev that much when he was here. wouldn't mind him not being here either. however if it means we get to dump sipithree somehow...
In a crazy scenario where we trade Paul I'd love to bring bev back . You know he will fit right in back with James . He's a dog . The experience he's gotten playing in LA has just made him better Only question in terms of value is his body . How will he hold up , how many games can he play , how many years ? He's old ish , but hasn't had as many NBA miles as most guys his age .
I agree. Don't look back at the past. It's nice to have memories of players that use to play here, but we need to move on and bring some young fresh legs in and be able to complete.
Wanting Chris Paul, trade Beverley 2 years later Daryl wants Beverley, Regrets having Chris Paul Daryl is Smart Educationally, but very Idiotic in Basketball moves, especially in Drafts.
He played 78 games and all the playoff games this season. He is a nice defender and three point shooter but is a luxury the Rockets do not have the assets or space for financially.
