Yes, LeBron averaged 34, 9, 9 during the 2018 playoffs. That would mean an assist on 3 more buckets per game and 3 more rebounds than harden along with 3 more points. Considering each game was decided by 6 points or less, you are giving your team at least ten extra points a game by substituting JH for LBJ. Plus, LeBron wouldn't have made that half assed inbounds pass in game six
I think you convince the lakers they aren’t trading for AD. So they are left to FA. But folks don’t “love” playing with Lebron and co (Rich Paul, etc). Lebron, Kuzma, 4th pick For Harden, Tucker Lebron/Kuzma play 3/4 anyway so you can move Tucker. The SiriusXM NBA morning guys think Lakers would have to and be fine with adding assets to Lebron to get Harden. Lakers improve from there by adding guys - specifically Jimmy Buckets - in FA. Rockets can either draft at 4 and ads around the edges, or use 4 plus other guys to try and trade for AD.
This is a good point. Harden is a regular season hero but not a playoff beast like Jordan, LeBron, Kawhi or Durant. And yes, if LBJ gets injured along with CP3 we are gone. JH is great in the regular season because of his production and health
Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. LBJ would singlehanded you create millions of dollars for this city and it’s citizens. At least the man is an attraction on his own.
Lebron is an unknown variable at this time. His performance last season with the Lakers could be a sign of age slowing him down or it can be a sign of someone who looked at the Lakers' roster and determined giving his all wasn't worth the toll it would add to his aging body, and either of these theories could absolutely be true. If you get "sail off into the sunset" Laker Lebron preparing for the afterlife after basketball, then no, you don't trade Harden for Lebron. But if you knew you were getting 2017-18 Cleveland Lebron, the one that single-handedly carried a hapless Cavaliers roster through the Eastern Conference to the Finals, then I say you absolutely would be better making a Harden for Lebron trade, at least in the short-term. It comes down to whether or not you think Harden is capable of eventually doing what Lebron has already done multiple times, carry a team to the Finals or further on his back. Unfortunately, we've yet to see a result from Harden that confirms he can. Now any organization that takes on a Lebron needs to do so knowing your role as a GM or head coach is going to be marginalized as Lebron expects to have a say in such matters. I think THIS, more than any of the above, is what might give a Daryl Morey pause. And I also doubt the Lakers would make such a trade.
Would you trade 2019 James Harden for 2019 Michael Jordan? My answer to that question is the same as to the OP's question.
Definitely not. LeBron is clearly past his prime. Harden is right in the middle of his, and possibly still getting better, like he has every season. This is a ridiculous question.
Lol you are a fool and I mean a genuine fool if you believe lebron is better then that version. Lebron was one of the best if not the best two way player in the league uptill 2015.
Yep, it is clear now that No.1 motivations to join Lakers were his family, his kids going school in LA where he got a home, and enjoying life. No.2 motivation was winning.
a 30 year old Lebron James....Sure. Heck, I'd even do a 32 year old Lebron, but Current LBJ, No Thanks. Lakers would do this in a heart beat. Then you'll have a 35 year old, past his prime, possible injured, Disgruntled Lebron here in Houston. Good Luck
