Not if his objective is to get rid of Mike Dan & Tony.

"Then he should just fire him!" Why? As Clutch has said, they want to keep their options open. Such is their right.

Without knowing where all the chips are going to fall...Katy, Kawhad, Butler, Davis etc...If you don't want these Rockets to turn into the 2009 Astros overnight, keeping options open is a very smart thing to do.

If & doesn't like it, he can go lose to the Warriors somewhere else.

We are perilously close to needing to blow this whole thing up. They're keeping that option in play, and I don't blame them.

If Raptors pull it off with Nick Nurse as coach, I'd say fire Morey as well.

He designed this team to carry out his game plan, and ended up with this mess of coaching and chemistry. Complete team reboot

Yeah, but Harden has proven what at the most crucial times in the playoffs. He can't take his teams there either. After the fallout with Dwight and CP, who's the superstar who wants to play with him?

Nobody actually said there was a fall out between James and Chris. That’s an assumption by most of y’all.

Then they should just tell MDA they were not going to negotiate his contract until next year. And they shouldn't even fire the assistants unless it was MDA's idea.

Anyway, the so-called incentive-based salary doesn't make sense for coaching. How do you measure a coach's performance with objective numbers? Using how far your team goes in the playoffs is clearly way too simplistic because it is so roster-dependent, not to mention injuries and what happen to other teams. If anything, the GM's job is much easier to measure quantitatively than the coach's job.

Start at 2nd round, 1 million dollars bonus.

Base salary should be 5 million. Scott brook is 7 million. If nba finals, mda makes 7million.

........, As a result, Tilman and morey have zero concern. It could lead to underachieve in playoffs again.

Without Jeff b, mda is in trouble.

Tilman talks champ. Reality could be lottery.

Tilman is a dumpster fire. Everything he touches becomes underwhelming. Please name one venture he's touched and turned it into something better than he found it? Note when the downfall of Houston began.

What, this is a garbage way of doing business and its not very promising for any future coaches either. "Such is their right" give me a break, to do this to a coach who has the best winning percentage in Rockets history. No respectable coach would ever like this. This is total nonsense.

You don't get a 5 billion dollar net worth by being a dumpster fire loser of a business man.

I believe/suspect Morey could be a big Yes man behind the scenes and therefore could have averted heat toward his own person all these years.

I do not get why you would go into such an important season with uncertainty at the head coaching position. Being that this formula never seems to work out, maybe should have just let him go rather than have it be a possible distraction.

Raptors have personnel who can take mid range shots.

In Rox history people who have been able to make mid range shots are allowed to take mid range shots. This includes Marcus Morris, Patrick Patterson, Cp3 and of course James Harden.

Tbh the theory or initial gameplan of the Rockets has always been ok so bother about mid range shots or w/e, that is fine. The problem has always been adjustments when things happen out of the norm (ie role players like Kevon Looney have career games or KD gets hurt or Curry who is expected to be out shows up etc) the Rox are always caught flat footed and discombobulated because guess what, they only have 6 total sets in their arsenal and they have very few practices to work on their game.

MDA's style has always been regular seasom exclusive, because other coaches dont take the time to thoroughly disect and counter their opponents in the regular season. But in the playoffs you have all the time to do that, and since Rox only have 6 plays to choose from the opponent can gameplan for those 6 strats while obv the Rockets are underprepared and overwhelmed with what to do.

I think MDA is better served to be an assistant coach than an actual HC because what he is good at is player chemistry, offense set up and planning. But your HC also manages the game, calls timeouts and subs player and obv MDA gets an F in all those aspects.

Agree should have let him walk but I guesd tillman is wary of the fallout of firing MDA thats whys he wants him to resign instead.

I never said he was a loser of a businessman.

Running the team strictly as a business venture will turn our team into a dumpster fire.
