If butler stays in philly best we can do is trade Capela to Cleveland for Kevin Love in a 3 team deal which sends tristian Thompson to Dallas. Then sign Deandre for minimum Use MLE for a “really talented player”. Deandre Jordan(MIN)/ JaMychael Green Love (3 years left)/ PJ tucker KCP or Terrence Ross for MLE/ Ariza (MIN) Harden/Gordon Paul/ Rivers
I don't want anything to do with that broke down version of Love. I really don't get the fascination with him from many posters here other than name recognition. Dude played 22 games last year and hasn't played more than 60 in the last 3 years. He hasn't played more than 28minutes per in two years. Just not the guy we need …. This is 5 years too late. Really , can you imagine him switching on the perimeter ? ….. Literally unplayable in the Rockets defensive scheme. I'd be looking for the next Draymond Green out of the UDFA's …. since they don't have a damn draft pick and no money left to buy one. 6'9" guys who can defend inside and out , pass , dribble without kicking it in the front row and shoot some. (What we hope Clark turns into). I really don't think Capela is the problem on either end of the court - the problem is the weakness at the 3 and the fact that CP3 and Harden don't compliment one another at all. Having them on the court together is counterproductive. Main reason GSW was able to defend that lob so easily is Green didn't commit to one or the other and just stayed in Capela's front pocket …. in front of Harden. Where no matter what Harden did , he could still make a play on the ball. Their defensive rotations were also very good …. have to give them some credit for having a great scheme and excellent execution. I hate Draymond Green , so much I wish he played for the Rockets …. Forget about Love …. Old , washed up.
Has anyone written a summary of what the rockets would have to lose to sign Jimmy Butler, if anything? I don't really understand any of the salary cap or CBA stuff. Would they have to get rid of EG, Capela, both, neither? Can they afford to sign him without losing anyone? How much money would be leftover to build out the bench? Would appreciate if someone could direct me towards a post that explains this, or if they could just summarize it here.
