@Codman thanks for posting in this thread. Butler in Philly has been interesting. He has been a *blender* there. Like he is the fourth option. Feels like he could do a lot more offensively. In Houston, if he WANTED to take more shots he would have them. ESPECIALLY if EG was moved.

Knowing Butler and Harden are close is important.

I wouldn't mind......JJ Redick following Butler to Houston. But perhaps that ship has sailed with him. Feels like J. Simmons could easily be had as Phily had no use for him. Is that on Philly? Or is J Simmons just not good anymore?

When I read that Tilman interview by the Chronicle, and Tilman talking BIG about *toughness* I can't help feel like he is talking about Jimmy Butler. Is that interview foreshadowing? The question is, are Harden and Butler talking now? Will Butler do what it takes to scheme this up to make the opt-in and trade happen?

IF you can get Butler via opt-in & trade with Gordon and other pieces going out, I’d be all for giving Reddick or Llull (I know, I know) every last bit of the taxpayer MLE.

Use bird rights to resign Shumpert.

Then try to get as many two way players as we can for the minimum.

    CP3
    Harden / Reddick
    Butler / Shumpert
    Tucker
    Capela

I don't see how we're getting Beal, he'll likely be the backup plan for all the teams with the most assets after they don't get Davis so, Lakers, Celtics, Knicks (if they get at least a star)...i think we have no chance.

Gordon eh, i like him a lot but he's probably the player with more value on the Magic, might be the best player and he has a great contract going forward, they would be crazy to trade him unless they get back something very good, which is not something we have.

So am I; but, you'll never get me signed to a Rockets' contract. (No matter how much I beg.)

Maybe I'm naive but I think Atlanta can facilitate a 3-way deal where they get Clint (they can absorb his contract after renouncing a lot of their free agents this summer), send the #10 to Philly, we send Eric Gordon to Philly, and Philly sends us Butler (after he opts in) along with Simmons.

I posted something similar earlier regarding a 3-way with Atlanta & Philly.

I'd target ATL as a facilitator in a deal, but now we are dealing Gordon AND Capela for Jimmy? I'm not keen on that.

I like @Deuce proposal better. Player names may change, but I think framework of Capela to ATL, Bazemore to Philly and Jimmy to HOU makes sense with whatever other moving parts they have to work out.

Still all needs Butler to lock in on Houston.

I figured I was probably the 2000th member to walk down this 3-way path lol. It makes a lot of sense for a team like Atlanta to go out and grab a center that fits in perfectly with their young core, Philly to recoup their losses (Gordon + #10) for a player that could be a malcontent for them next year, and Houston to get another All-Star on the team.

I'd like to keep Gordon as well but Bazemore's production fell off the cliff last year. I don't know if Philly would take him back when they could ask for a JJ Redick replacement in Gordon who's better and cheaper than Bazemore right now.

I'd say no at that point. I'm not dealing Gordon and Capela for Butler.

My deal nets the 76ers Bazemore AND Prince. Remember Philly didn't send out picks to get Butler, just 2 players. They recoup those 2 players here. They get bench depth they will need (Bazemore) and Prince is the Covington replacement that they lost.

I'm willing to throw future picks in as well FWIW. Just not willing to put Capela AND Gordon in a deal for one player.

Yeah, you can't trade BOTH Capela and Gordon.
