Michigan's Justin Amash is one of the most conservative members of Congress and sits on the powerful House Oversight and Reform Committee. He is the first GOP lawmaker to call for Trump's impeachment, more to follow. “Mueller’s report reveals that President Trump engaged in specific actions and a pattern of behavior that meet the threshold for impeachment,” says justin Amash “In comparing Barr’s principal conclusions, congressional testimony, and other statements to Mueller’s report, it is clear that Barr intended to mislead the public about Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s analysis and findings,” Amash said, adding that “Barr’s misrepresentations are significant but often subtle, frequently taking the form of sleight-of-hand qualifications or logical fallacies, which he hopes people will not notice.” “Contrary to Barr’s portrayal, Mueller’s report reveals that President Trump engaged in specific actions and a pattern of behavior that meet the threshold for impeachment,” “Impeachment, which is a special form of indictment, does not even require probable cause that a crime (e.g., obstruction of justice) has been committed; it simply requires a finding that an official has engaged in careless, abusive, corrupt, or otherwise dishonorable conduct,” "lawmakers have become too afraid of using impeachment to deter presidential misconduct" https://www.politico.com/story/2019/05/18/justin-amash-trump-impeachable-mueller-1332780
Well, that he's not another partisan hack is enough for me. I wish both parties could put country before party.
the poster child for impetuousness, who has not read the Mueller report, publicizing his ignorance AGAIN !!!
LOL @ "getting his name out there through controversy" -- hahahahahaha! Say hello to like, your whole stinking life.
Obstruction? Probably the many examples in Mueller Report. Barr's misrepresentations? Probably his dishonesty to Congress and his initial (non) summary of the Mueller report.
I wonder what examples the 720 former federal prosecutors who think Trump should be impeached would give.
Every single and last one of them is a democrat. That sole reason being why all 720 of them think that. It’s that simple.
Kudos to Amash for actually being a person of principles. This is political suicide for him but he did it anyway, so I respect him. He's been critical of Trump since his nomination, but he managed to dodge a primary challenge in 2018, somehow. No way he doesn't get a primary opponent in 2020. I'd say he should switch parties, but he's so ideologically conservative that that wouldn't be possible. He'll make a good living as a lobbyist though.
He should stays a Republican. Seriously need more people that is willing to speak against bad, corrupt, wrong, impeachable leadership within the party.
I totally agree. But, I don't expect the Republicans in his district are onboard with him. Probably gets primaried next year. Like Jeff Flake, might not even bother running.
