This stretch will decide home field through the playoffs and it's the toughest stretch we will play...(unless unforeseen injuries takes it toll)

We play the Red Sox 6 games, Cubs 3 games, Yankees 4 games, Brewers 2 games
Funny thing is how bad the rest of the teams are. The other 23 games out of this 38 game stretch are against sub 500 teams.

Ehh.... I say we go 22-16 during that stretch with an injury to one of our starting pitchers and a regular in the line up.

Our division is garbage. Beating down the A's, Angels, Mariners, and Rangers will get us the wins we need. The Yankees, Rays, and Red Sox will beat each other up and the Indians and Twins will too.

Indians and Twins still have 16 games head to head.

Yankees have 16 more against the Rays and 17 against the Red Sox.

So...what if the Astros go 23-0 against the bad teams and 0-15 against the good teams? Will it cost them home field? They'd be playing at a 61% winning percentage which is a 99 win pace. Not sure what playing "good" teams has to do with home field advantage unless you are looking at a possible head to head tie breaking scenario. That being the case, they are already 3-0 against the Yankees.

That's what I'm looking at. Tie breakers, beating the teams the give us the edge for home field in the playoffs. One more win against the yankees and we get it against them.
Also it just shows how many bad teams there are now. This is our toughest stretch and out of 38 games, 23 are against sub 500 teams. Amazing.
Also I'm bored on a Monday and wanted to type something to talk about. :)

Our divison sucks, the teams out east are gonna beat up on each other, and Minnesota will slow down.

If we don't have the best record in the AL, then something has gone wrong.

In all honesty....we have home field in the bag *unless we get destroyed by injuries which is always a possibility.
We are in a cake walk to home field in the playoffs...just need to be healthy when playoffs start.
Way to many crappy teams out there.
We go 9-6 against the playoffs teams during the stretch and Home field is a lay up. (*see above)

Trade Altuve, tank for the next upcoming prospect and build around Tyler White...is that how this works?

Even if they go 0-6 against the Red Sox?

I kind don't like myself for even saying this, but *as it stands now* our August/September schedule looks ridiculously favorable. After they play @ Cleveland the end of July, every other game is against the AL West or Detroit, Colorado, CWS, KC, Tor, & Baltimore outside of 3 at against Tampa & 2 against at the Brewers.

Nit-picky...but the 3 with the Rays are in Houston.

Of course they are, since we've already played there. Got the H/R mixed up for them & the Brewers.

Personally, it would have been nice for them to have 3 more here. I could eat and park at Dr. BBQ and then walk across to the game and have my pick of seats.

Well... that’s why this is the hardest stretch or at least most interesting. You go 0-6 against the Red Sox and we might not get home field through the playoffs.
Win series against Red Sox or at least split and we should have home field.
Winning series against the Cubs will give us home field in event we tie and see them in the WS. Cubs playing solid this year so far.

The only way this particular stretch will affect home field throughout the playoffs is the head to head against the Red Sox and Yankees. That being said, they need to sweep the Rays next time they play them and they have already blown HTH against the Twins. Pretty sure if they go 0-6 against Boston and 32-0 the rest of the stretch, it won’t matter one bit that they went 0-6.

In other words, this 38 game stretch is no more or less important than any other 38 game stretch.

First half has been tough. Has to even out.
