how can you vow multiple championships when you're a huge p***y about the tax? no team will win anything if they're like that. should've kept ariza at the very least. wouldnt need house or shump.
And he seems to be guaranteeing even more of those championships!!! As they say down there in South Beach.."Not 1, not 2, not 3...but 4 trades for cash considerations" !!
I'll believe it when i see it. So far in year 1 we have a guy averaging 36ppg and front office decided to give up future assets and make this current team worse by dipping below the luxury tax line. Not a great start
He didn't do much to make this team better last season... he let go Ariza.. Luc Mbah Moute didn't ask much...sent James Ennis for nothing...unwilling to go into luxury cap when all good teams including GS are deep into luxury tax. Didn't make any significant trade before trade deadline... all he did was salary dump.
So who's going to bail out the Rockets? At least Morey had a better run than 4 years. I still think Morey was onto something with the threes and dunks, at least until the NBA moves the 3pt line back to where rates start approaching 30 percent for most of the league. It's just he never seemed to bring in guys who shot it all that well. Nor coaches or facilitators who could usually help the rest of the team maximize the percentage for the shots they were taking. Though when the Rockets did try to use movement to get shooters open, it could be a beautiful offense.
Dear God, Cletus, Tillman just gave Morey an extension on his extension, now signed for like 9 more years. Tillman wanted CP3 at max because CP3 is a cool kid and Tillman is all about gloss for Tillman. This is who Tillman is. Nothing will change.
the thing about all our shooters (including harden/paul) is that they are all completely inconsistent. quarter to quarter, you don't know what you're going to get with all of them. as well as in the clutch. case in point: one of our most reliable shooters (tucker) had a wide open 3 in the right corner off a harden passout at the end of game 6. horry, elie, maxwell, etc were not better corner shooters than tucker percentage wise. but is there any doubt that each of those guys would have drained that shot? timing is everything, everywhere. including on the court. and none of our shooters can ever be relied on when it really matters. they are inconsistent on the whole AND when it counts. harden made a big three at the end of game 3 to seal the win. worrier players made big threes at the end of games 1, 5, and 6 to close us out. just like last season, live by three die by the three. hopefully morey figures this thing out
Mouthpiece Feigen going to work @pippendagimp https://www.houstonchronicle.com/sp...Rockets-Q-A-with-Jonathan-Feigen-13838545.php So how do they get better? A. Never rule out a bold move, but the most likely avenues are with the mid-level exception and minimum contracts. They could have as much as $9 million of mid-level money to spend, though given what that would take under CBA rules and the roster constraints that would bring, it is much more likely they operate with the $5.7 million exception. Though spending the exception money would push the Rockets back into the luxury tax, general manager Daryl Morey has already been given a green light to pay the tax, a person with knowledge of the team's planning said. _____________________________ Funny, we heard that exact same thing exactly one year ago.
Exactly....and GS have two of the best pure shooters on the same team. So it works for them. They are not just jump shooters or set shooters. They come off screens and find a open shots.
Great points and your spot on ! He’s gonna have to go over that luxury tax to win all good teams do it ! What I wish would happen is that Harden and Paul would restructure their contracts to get another star on the team. That’s what the warriors did but I think their too stingy to do that. Harden is getting what he deserves but my gawd Paul was over paid
