...and yet the Warriors found great value in him.

So whose right? The Warriors or those who cut him?

that's what's so funny about it. the warriors are considered a foregone conclusion to win the title every year (including in vegas where i believe they were the biggest favorite in a long time) but when the rockers either lose in 7 due to injury or lose a series where no game was decided by more than 6 points, suddenly the "old school" idiots crawl out from under their rocks to remind us that nerds are stupid and the rockets style stands no chance (nevermind that lebron is 1-8 and pop is 0-8 vs this durant version of the team).

I believe they stop talking to each other for almost 10 years now.

Regardless, nerds took us from losing to the warriors in 5 games to at least making it competitive. No other team in the league has thus far put up any resistance to the Durant era warriors. None.

    Lol.

First, that’s rich David West. It especially means a lot coming from someone who chased a ring and ended up with the spurs, one of the least analytically driven teams in the game, didn’t win anything, then decided teaming up with the most analytically driven team in the NBA at the time with the MVP, Stephen Curry, another top 5 shooter/all star 3 and D player in Klay Thompson, and a former DPOY/All Star in Draymond Green.

To everyone complaining about Moreyball, I get not wanting to see ISO ball all season. It’s a regular season system that is great at scoring at will and allowing stars to take over games. However, it doesn’t work in playoffs for whatever reason. Teams have more time to scheme around stopping it is what I’m guessing, and when you force the ball out of the all stars hands and force role players to take tough shots, you’re usually going to win. It’s not a fool proof system by any means.

Moreyball is the reason we were able to take an all star and a half and go at these dudes in 7 games last year, 6 this year. What killed us was rebounding, Clint capela in particular, CP3 not showing up until this game, and James harden not taking over like he showed during the regular season.

The ignorance is astounding. The Rockets defense can't stop a historic 4th quarter from Steph where he shot 3s all over us and suddenly that's a referendum on the offense that was 4 points worse?

i won't necessarily argue that we tried harder in the first 4 games, but since "hardwood classics" seems to only think 3 rockets games from history exist - 1994 game 7 against phoenix, 1994 game 7 against new york, and 1995 game 4 against orlando (why not game 1?) - i've seen them quite a bit (they occasionally show some others). i think rockets/warriors blows everything but knicks game 7 out of the water in terms of intensity and effort. the old illegal defense rules made defense look softer back in 1995 because the double teams were so obvious, but watching us switch and fly out at steph, klay, and durant vs the effort against orlando is just night and day. and we sucked at rebounding also. both the rockets and warriors would laugh at the defensive effort and energy expended from that game 4.

West is only showing his age.

The "best" record Bucks increased their 3PA significantly this season.

Get off my lawn. Rinse and repeat.

Yeah, the idea of creating and taking threes, layups, and free throws is sound. Where the Rockets fail is personnel. Imagine James passing to knock down shooters like Redick, Mills, Thompson, Brogdon, Middleton, Ingles, Korver, Danny Green, Joe Harris, etc. Beyond that, imagine the space we could create for James with the top of the key P'n'R if we had a capable big man shooter like Marc Gasol or Brook Lopez.

We try to execute the plan with what are, for the most part, just "okay" three point shooters.

David West had no issue letting the nerd tell him how to play when the time came to shamelessly ring-chase with the Warriors and the Spurs. What a two-face jackass !

They already got outscored twice in bo7 series 3 years ago, when Curry wasn't past his athletic prime, Draymond could hit threes, Bogut was one of the best defensive players and their bench wasn't useless.

And they were arguably better then than they are now full-strength. Without KD they are the worst team remaining and will lose WCF if he doesn't return. But Rockets lose by 40 to Kawhi-less Spurs so it might not look that way last game.
