maybe you guys still remember this interview Kobe Bryant & Tracy McGrady Interview.

Kobe said: with the style how James Harden plays, he won't win a championship.
Check out the interview from 03:05.

here are a few thoughts of mine which in line with Kobe:
    1. iso does not involve other players; stagnant play, all other players stand and watch, we actually have quite good shooters around Harden
    2. too many contested shoots at the end of the shooting clock, even with iso, he can initiate the play earlier in the clock rather than at the last second or so.
    3. whistle in the playoffs not like in Regular season, frustrated not getting calls in the playoffs, efficiency gone and very passive affect to the mindset of himself and teammates;
    4. Kobe did mention that his crazy score was to help the team to win, while in the playoff games, he could not pick up those performance, due to whatever reasons: intensity, personality of disappearing in crucial games (proved year after year), willing to win champ, etc...
He should have taken over the game at the last couple minutes in games (Game 5 and Game 6) when it matters with elimination, with the obvious advantage with KD out.
    5. Chris Paul is the best complementary player to Jame Harden during close games for rhythm or consistency. but Chris Paul aged/collapsed from last year to this year after this massive contract signed.
conclusion: Harden is at his prime, and we should make the best use of it. He just needs some help, we need to do two things (at least):
    1) Fire MDA, change the whole game setup, move the ball.
    2) Find another ruthless player to help James and Chris to bring some vitality into the game.

    your thoughts?

That's rich. With the style Kobe played, how many championships did he win?

    Oh. Wait.

At the end of games, when defenses tighten, ISO should be a secondary option after other options are taken away. ISO is needed in these situations but I agree that cuts and ball movement need to be incorporated as it seems Harden becomes lackadaisical on defense and offense once the series hits game 5 and onwards.

Besides Harden and Tucker, everyone else along with Coach is fair game to change things up. If we don’t and still lose next year, we become very limited. If Durant or Klay leave, then maybe bring the core back.

I keep hearing this things but James was a Chris Paul away from winning just 12 months ago...even though tbh, it's not a given we would've won, but i think it's fair to say we were likely going to do it.

Playing with prime Shaq (> post prime Dwight) and prime Gasol/Odom/Bynum (> post prime Paul) also helped him winning.

The Rockets were capable of winning this series. They gave a good fight and lost to a better team. I don’t like this attitude that because they lost somehow the loss was inevitable.

There are things we can try to improve on next year. But the way we play works.

This is on Harden and MDA. We all knew Harden’s style has it’s problem in the last few mins of a game when refs are not making the calls, opponents can play aggressive on defense and your iso helps them defending you.

MDA issue is he lets star player gets everything they want. Rotation is too short where guys are tired out.
