I'm not sure if RR is on TV anywhere here, but if they are, I don't think most people know about it. I think they might just be on MiLB.tv . Unfortunately, the CSN-H debacle coincided with the Rangers being good and Astros being woeful, so it was some really bad timing. There's certainly a mix of Astros fans here, but back in the 2000's, they were the dominant team.
This map is based on tickets purchased for a particular teams stadium. A lot of counties in Ranger blue may be Astros fans purchasing tickets to watch a game in Arlington because it's closer than Houston.
Rangers? We've got our minor league team in RR. No wonder that map looks like it does. The Stros have the San Antonio markets whether they show the games or not. It's really sad that the TV execs dont get that their BB fans would rather see a championship ballclub than a sub .500 club. Dont worry, by the time Luhnow gets thru the Stros will be draws just below the Yankees and Red Sox.
Bryce is so fun to watch when he’s on. Obviously him in HOU was never going to happen...but him in our lineup would’ve been a dream come true. Phillies looking great so far.
Don't mean to bump, but wasn't sure where else to put this... Where is everyone that said drop Yuli because Tyler White was our 1B/DH of the future??? Right now I wish we traded both of them and Kyle Tucker or paid whatever the cost for Goldschmidt. He looks amazing and we are struggling there. But Yuli is much better than White. Bring up Alvarez to DH at this point...
Gurriel has been pretty horrible so far this season. 81 wRC+, -0.4 fWAR. White hasn’t been great (98 wRC+, 0.0 fWAR) but he’s been significantly better than Gurriel. I advocated adding a 1B or DH and making Gurriel the utility guy. But I wouldn’t have wanted them to trade 3 good prospects for Goldy then pay him $100M+. Would rather them have just shelled out for Nelson Cruz for 2 years. How about a blockbuster deadline deal with the Giants? Posey, Belt, and Bumgarner for Tucker, Bukauskas, C Martin, Abreu, Kemp, and Stassi.
If we're looking for 1B help, especially with White, Gurriel, and Diaz struggling, I'd go after Smoak, who the Blue Jays are openly shopping. On pace to have a bounce-back year, will be a rental who should be pretty cheap to trade for. Slugging switch-hitting bat for the middle of the order. I think he'd be happy for a chance at a ring, and he'd be reunited with Diaz and Osuna. Maybe he can take Stroman with him (who is also on the trade block).
