Gaine overplayed his hand with 31 teams knowing exactly what he was going to do. That’s usually not a good situation to be in.

Honestly I have no problem with Howard as a player. Tremendous upside and hopefully he surprises us earlier than expected. But man that went from best case scenario to WTF quick.

Never. You have a bunch of posters with NO CLUE how to evaluate talent. They look for names at big schools and don't understand NFL talent doesn't mean "big school" "big name".

He may turn out to be a great player. But, it's irritating that most of the mocks had him as a late second or third round pick.

Oh well. I'll be rooting for him.

I like the player, think it was a slight reach. Had been hearing a lot of interest in 2nd round

I think this is how everyone feels. Probably could’ve even traded back to the end of the first round and still got him.

Matt Miller says Tytus Howard was "criminally underrated" coming into this draft class & loves the pick

Truth is, it doesn’t matter if you’re McShay or McLovin. Everyone is an expert talent evaluator and everyone has their opinion.

We won’t know until we know.

Again, im rolling with this pick.

Here are my problems with this pick:

    1. We reached. Third round grade - likely would have been there in the 2nd round.
    2. You can't miss on your first rounder and we chose a guy with high bust potential (small school, weak upper body, relatively new to the position, raw)
    3. We picked purely based on need, bypassing sure-fire talents such as Greedy Williams, Montez Sweat, and others.
    4. Did you see his combine video - pants fell down to indecent levels numerous times.

I would love to see a stat on which teams get jumped in front of in the draft most often. Teams always know who we are going to pick.

This is Jimmy G all over again

Not a fan of the draft position. Like most thought we couldve grabbed him with our first 2nd rounder. The one thing though, even if it seems like Gaine has botched the entire offseaon, he has excelled in drafting. So, heres to hoping for the best with Howard and hoping that there are good dbs in the second for us.

you cannot trade up and you cannot trade down, let's hope your draft board is valid, Mr. Gaine.

All I can do is laugh. Another freaking project.

I thought the goal was to protect our franchise QB.

    But hey I'm not surprised.

The Cowboys' all-pro center was mocked as a 3rd rounder and the Cowboys picked him at #15 (I think). People said the Cowboys' reached. All these so-called "mockers", most have no NFL talent evaluation experience at ALL. They are GUESSERS.

Some silver linings: There is some serious talent left out there including the Taylor, Ford, Risner, Little, Greedy, Murphy, Ya-Sin, Layne, etc...Assuming the price to move up in the 2nd is considerably less than moving in the 1st, hoping Gaine sees some opportunity here.
