Felons with guns forming “militias”... can’t imagine what could go wrong. This is up there with those idiots in Texas that formed their own currency and thoat moron couple that never paid taxes and went on television to tell everyone else to do the same. Anything to distract so no one realizes our democracy is being raped.
This. Posters like @crash5179 and @Cohete Rojo have a severe blind spot to the socioeconomic profile of these faux militia groups. Most of these guys are suffering from delusions of grandeur running around with their sapi plate carriers, often without the actual sapis because they are horribly out of shape, ar-15s with 10 different attachments having pipe dreams of saving a big tired blonde from invasive Muslim hordes. They are the dredges of society. Probably plenty of former enlisted who were unable to transition because they lack any proper education.
A bunch of baseless accusations pointed towards a group of citizens that, that as far as you know has committed no crime. Typical “Left Wing” strategy to use false facts to claim faux outrage in an attempt to deflect from the only facts we know to be true; a group of citizens legally detaining people committing a federal offense.
These armed vigilantes are breaking the law. Its not legal for a private citizen to arrest (armed or not) an illegal alien. Illegal aliens are committing misdemeanors (not a felony until it happens continually after deportation). A private citizen can only make an arrest (called a "citizen's arrest") in cases where the the other person commits a known felony. FBI arrests member of armed group stopping migrants in New Mexico "The rule of law should be in the hands of trained law enforcement officials, not armed vigilantes," New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas said. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-new...ed-group-stopping-migrants-new-mexico-n996746
One murder of an innocent isn't a concern as long as you stop a few people from committing a misdemeanor? Are you serious? I think the family that suffers as a result probably thinks it is a concern.
Americans have no country to which they can immigrate. At least not one which affords a minimum wage 6-10 times higher than that of the United States’. These men are protecting what little sovereignty the United States has left. They are heroes.
Americans sovereignty isn't impeded by some people committing a misdemeanor. Breaking the law and going against the United States Constitution isn't preserving anything truly American.
Not really baseless. I know quite a few peers I served with as a Marine grunt who couldn't figure it out after getting out. Run ins with law enforcement, no job prospects, drug abuse etc. Sad stories honestly. They fell trap to these type of militias along with right wing propaganda mainly because it gave them a sense of purpose and delusions of grandeur. If you thought border patrol qualifications are low(they really are), this is far worse and highly unpragmatic. Members of these militia groups would better serve their economic interests by trying to fight actual systemic issues such as money in politics.
Gee, look at that list of countries you were able to come up with. Maybe you should approach these people with that list.
I wish you had the opportunity to hang out with these faux militias groups for a few weeks. You would probably reconsider your opinions.
Yes they are baseless because you don’t know the people in the militia or anything about them except they are detaining criminals that have committed a Federal Offense.
Texas is a common law state and in common law states the crime only has to be indictable not a felony. Most people confuse this since most misdemeanors are not indictable. Illegally crossing the U.S. border is indictable with a Prison Term up to 6 months on 1st offense. It becomes a felony on 2nd offense. See 8 U.S.C. Section 1325, I.N.A. Section 275
You love taking words to extreme places. No one is saying that we shouldn't feel bad for the family or the dead. Murders are bad yes, but don't act like people don't die when police stop people for misdemeanors or as many leftists say "for being black." These things are accidents usually and if they are malicious then send the killer to jail. To say that because someone died the law shouldn't be enforced is your argument and it's utter nonsense.
I understand the culture very well. You don't. I understand the motivations and the path that leads them to these groups. And it vast majority of of instances it's from being propagandized from sites like Stormfront while having no positive outlook in life and wanting a sense of belonging. You wouldn't be so willing to support these groups if you spent one week living with them and hearing their internal conversations.
No you are making assumptions that fit your narrative without a shred off knowledge of the actual individuals in the group. I’m from Texas and I served in the Army so don’t act as if you are the only one to ever serve.
You don’t know if they are only committing a misdemeanor, in fact you know next to nothing about them at all. That is why you check your emotions and make them go through a legal point of entry. If they did not go through a legal point of entry they should be arrested.
Serving in the military is a very broad spectrum of experiences. Marine infantry probably has the largest percentage of far right extremists. There is a general profile for the type of people that are attracted to these faux militia groups. Deep down, you probably know it also. And from personal experience of knowing two individuals who joined similar groups, I know exactly the socioeconomic and ideological motivations for joining these groups. These people aren't our best and brightest. Many of them are self-labeled white supremacists. If you want to die on this hill, go doe it but I can point to hundreds of examples of the militias expressing clear cut white supremacist ideology.
