If you go to the Knickerbockers, you would question their management and ownership all day, every day a month. 2x on weekends.

    Good luck with that.

If he goes to NY with no other star and no Zion... The press conferences, that is. If he has a season like Lebron had, he’s too mentally weak to deal with it.

Knicks president Steve Mills and general manager Scott Perry sent out a letter to season-ticket holders this past week talking about what the team — and the fans — have endured and about the plans for what is to come.

“We can honestly say that the future of the New York Knicks is extremely bright,” said the letter, which was signed by both executives. “Through our trade of Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr., Courtney Lee and Trey Burke to Dallas, we enhanced our organizational plan by acquiring a young dynamic player in Dennis Smith Jr., a veteran leader in DeAndre Jordan and two additional first-round picks.

“We now have seven first- round draft picks over the next five years, and we remain committed to adding young talent to a team that is currently one of the two youngest in the NBA. In addition, we have created a tremendous amount of financial flexibility, which has put us in a position to potentially sign up to two max free agents.’’

When Garden executive chairman and Knicks owner James Dolan, appearing on “The Michael Kay Show” on ESPN New York radio, addressed the issue, he assured anyone listening that stars are coming.

“No, look, New York is the mecca of basketball,” Dolan said. “We hear from people all the time, from players, representatives. It’s about who wants to come. We can’t respond because of the NBA rules, but that doesn’t stop them from telling us, and they do.

“I can tell you from what we’ve heard, I think we’re going to have a very successful offseason when it comes to free agents. The thing about the team now is that it’s very young. It’s the youngest team in the NBA. You take a look at some of the players that we have and they won’t be the centerpiece of the team, but as complements to the centerpiece of the team, we’re developing them right now.”

When he was asked if that means that the top available talent will come, he didn’t hesitate.

“Yes, I do think that,” he said. “I think we offer a pretty good situation for them. One is a lot of them love New York. A bunch of them live in New York in the offseason. They know the team. They know [David Fizdale] really well. They know Steve and they know Scott. I think they’re fairly confident about the organization.

“Players who are free agents want to go to a winner and they want to get paid. We’re definitely going to pay them. And we think with them combined with the kids that we have that we can build a winning team.”

“The commitment we are making to our fans is that we will not skip a single step in the development process of our players,” the letter concluded. “We will continue to focus on the draft in an attempt to replicate the type of players we added last summer. Most importantly, we will use our cap space diligently and only on players who believe in our plan and are committed to building the New York Knicks into the championship team that you deserve.”

Knicks won't be that good with KD and Irving unless they end up with an all star caliber player in the draft. Cavaliers with a peak lebron, irving and love got beat 4-1 in the finals. KD ain't close to peak lebron. Irving is the most overrated player in the league.

Kyrie is guard Melo. He should thank his lucky stars everyday that prime Lebron dragged him to a championship. He’s never going back there again as the best player on a team.

    disagree with this

the Cavaliers were an atrocious defensive team and lost 4-1 to GS with KD...without KD I fully believe the Cavs would’ve beat them

GS without KD isn’t nearly as scary...KD was up 3-1 on them with Russ, and I’d rather have Kyrie than Russ, especially in the playoffs

in the East, it’s really just Milwaukee that’s a great team, and maybe u can include Toronto if Kawhi stays

Knicks could be near the top of the East if they have decent depth surrounding KD and Kyrie

KD and Kyrie join Dennis Smith and two lottery picks. They won't be able to resign DAJ unless he takes the TP MLE. They will be at the top of the East if they don't screw it up. Milwaukee is a good team. Boston will still be good but do they get AD to replace an aging Horford? Pacers will recover. Toronto may not have Kawhi which would finish them. Philly will retain Harris but lose Butler so stuck in the same place. Brooklyn is much better as is Orlando. All of a sudden you have a very competitive East as Miami tries to remain relevant competing with Charlotte and Detroit for the playoffs.

lol when we beat the warriors or if they lose to the clippers they will use the durant free-agency and say they werent focused. Dont doubt the media, they wont blame curry for nothing. Its always everybody elses fault hahaha

In reality their win total since 2016 has dropped every year, teams are not afraid of them. And it will get even worse next year

It's easier to find street parking in Manhattan than it is to find an NBA executive, player or coach who doesn't think Durant is going to sign with the Knicks in July.

Some of Durant's former teammates think it's going to happen, per ESPN sources. Several of his current teammates have told friends that they think it's going to happen, sources said. Opposing agents believe it's a fait accompli: "Just a matter of putting pen to paper," is how one agent of another top free agent in the 2019 free agent class put it.

Why would Durant come to the Knicks when he could stay with the Golden State Warriors or sign with other teams with stronger supporting casts, such as the LA Clippers or Brooklyn Nets?

One opposing executive monitoring Durant's situation closely believes that the opportunity to win in New York -- and push the notion that he jumped on the bandwagon to win rings in Oakland from the forefront of fans' consciousness -- is a pull for the two-time Finals MVP.

"Winning there would change the narrative around him," one executive said.

If Durant comes to New York, he's not coming to be part of a rebuild. So it's hard to see him committing to the Big Apple without another star in tow. Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving, who has a close relationship with Durant (remember All-Star Weekend?), is one of the players who could join Durant in the Big Apple. Charlotte Hornets guard Kemba Walker also has fans in the Knicks organization. Multiple executives doing their homework on the free agent class, though, fully expect Durant to sign with the Knicks and Irving to join him.

please let this happen...I’d definitely go to MSG and watch a few games if they got KD and Kyrie

Don't forget too, a very good chance at a top 3 pick.

It will be very hard for the Knicks to mess this offseason up.

With Dennis Smith Jr...who is alright I guess...top 3 pick in a very top heavy draft, and the possibility of two max players? I think someone is going there, it's going to be hard to turn that down. Especially if they get the #1 pick and Zion.
