He'll want to institute the "IF grounder rule": if it bounces 4 times before it hits a glove or the exit velocity is < 80 it's an out. 9 pitch inning for Peacock was much needed.
May just be me, but Brantley doesn't seem all that comfortable in MMP's LF. He went after Grossman's pop double in a pretty gingerly halfassed manner. Did the roofballs get him spooked? eta: and he just got robbed of an RBI single
These A's announcers aren't terrible. Are MLB announcers normally just better than NBA announcers in general?
Yes, with a few exceptions: Boston, Texas, NYY, CWS, etc... Outside of Dallas, the AL West guys are all good. Oh yeah, slowed down and cooked lunch after the early excitement got me amped up. Kalas trying to scare everyone: "...high and deep heading toward the rafters". eta: well ****...Laureano should have hit the rafters, 'cause he hit that one to Mars. Yet another bloop (or broken bat single) and blast. All 7 A's runs have come with 2 outs. This is not goofy fun anymore, now **** is serious.
You can't draw up a less clutch team than the 2019 Astros so far this season. Lots of double plays. Hitting .100 ish with RISP. Struggling badly to get RBI's with men on third and less than 2 outs.
Anything but that would have been ok, damn. That may have been our best shot to do damage in the late innings. A's have Trivino-Treinen who are every bit the combo Pressly-Osuna are.
Interesting James is back in. He clearly doesn't have his best stuff. Guess they expect him to grind like Peacock.
