The main problem with the Lakers Magic Johnson doesn't know talent, the very long layoff from the Lakers where he was gone around 10 years. The league changed a lot since then, also the team was cheap in not keeping Julius Randle, Magic belittled Dangelo Russell in saying "Dangelo Russell is not a Leader". Karma got Magic Johnson when Dangelo destroyed the Lakers. Rob Pelinka first time being a GM, man he is so bad at his job. Jeanie also gets taken advantage of because of her kindness. Jerry West should've been Jeannies target as President of Operations of the Lakers, not Magic. Lebron James overall looks so spoiled, a Diva, bad character. I was right about LeBron, so was Harden in not getting this fool. LeBron literally was taking over the team, he wanted everyone traded, now the team clearly don't want to play hard for him. Zero effort on defense, still looks like he is on steroids on offense. Can't wait for offseason pictures of LeBron being off steroids, looking skinny.
Chris Broussard and Rachel Nichols also has a vote and they're picking Giannis because they created a narrative that Harden played like **** the first 20 or so games of the season leading to the Rockets to have a 11-14 record. Here is Harden in his first 25 games. Oh wow, is he actually averaging his MVP numbers from last year? yes. This dumb narrative is basically everywhere in the media and they will use it to argue against Harden in MVP voting.
This. I once thought Michelle Beadle was the most horribly annoying, unabashedly biased, pigheaded homer in sports TV until I saw Cari Champion who essentially does every show with a set of purple and gold pom-poms stitched to her hands.
Quick thought experiment here to expose her bias... Just imagine how her take would be different if LeBron was putting up Harden's numbers and dragging the Lakers to the 3rd seed...
Look, team success matters. And yes that stretch matters too. But *at the same time* lets also talk about the Bucks team success and how Coach Bud is the catalyst there. We can't just look at the Rockets lack of success at that 11-14 point and PIN IT on Harden and AT THE SAME TIME *not* PIN the team success of the Bucks on BUD. That's the thing with Nichols and Broussard. They aren cherry picking. And not completing the picture. Nichols is a *narrative* person. She wants Giannis and there is no way she will be persuaded. It was obvious with here on the night Harden scored 61 vs the Spurs and was otherworldly. She came on twitter and said she can't take any opinion seriously if someone said the MVP race isn't close. She does this on a PRO Harden night. Why? Because she is pro Giannis and doesn't like people thinking it is obviously Harden's MVP season because she has the opposite opinion.
buckies about to win at ATL without the services of 1) brogdon 2) mirotic 3) middleton 4) snell 5) bledsoe 6) gasol 7) alphabet soup
the solution: 1 from now on, every year, MVP should be automatically awarded to Harden 2 there should be another award like sympathy MVP or photogenicity MVP or narrative MVP that should be awarded to whoever media think is the best player besides Harden, or who media like more than harden, had a game more aesthetically pleasing than harden, has a better narrative or at least doesn't remind people of an islamic terrorist
Does James Harden get Rachel Nichols "Best player in the NBA" award this year? Or does Nichols only bring out that award for years that LeBron is playing well? Just checking.
Why are media people saying that James Harden played poorly in the first 22 games that he played? No, the ROCKETS played poorly. The reason the Rockets turned the season around is because in the first 22 games James Harden averaged 30 ppg 8.3 apg 5.5 rpg 44.2% 37% and then for the next 32 games (until all-star) James Harden averaged 41.1 ppg 7.3 apg 7.4 rpg 44.1% 37.6% So, NO. James Harden wasn't playing "bad." He was playing just fine. In fact he was averaging MVP numbers. What James Harden had to do was play BETTER, and that's why the Rockets suddenly turned their season around. Why does no one talk about how the Rockets played Carmelo Anthony for the first 10 games? The next 5 games the Rockets went 5-1. Then Chris Paul went down for a short period and missed 3 straight games. Rockets went 0-4. I don't think people realized how short our rotation was before we signed Austin Rivers. We were relying on young inexperienced players such as Hartenstein, Chriss, House, and Clark. James Ennis was the best that we had. It was literally a 5 man rotation of NBA caliber players. No team would win many games just playing a decent 5 to 6 man rotation. Look, it's fine if someone wants to vote for Giannis, but please lets not make up lies. The Rockets started off poorly because the roster sucked. James Ennis was our best free agent signing, and we traded him for a protected 2nd round pick. That shows how valuable he was. It's no wonder the Rockets turned into a 55+ win caliber team once they got healthy, and found good rotation players in Rivers, House, Faried, and even Chumpert. I HATE FAKE NARRATIVES. Btw in those 4 losses that took the Rockets to 11-14 James Harden averaged 38 points, 12 assists on 45% shooting, and the Rockets STILL lost all those games. Are we really going to put the blame on Harden for averaging 38 points and 12 assists on elite efficiency? PUT ME ON THE JUMP. I WOULD OBLITERATE THESE FOOLS
Thanks for providing those numbers during the first 22 games. Puts things into perspective. Harden was playing at an MVP level....and then brought his game to ANOTHER level. Crazy. FYI, I liked this data so much, I hope you don't mind but I tweeted it out. Thanks.
