But.... isn't that a fairly compelling reason to not be financially irresponsible? Do we really want a slew of potential cap-killing busted contracts on our books? Some of these deals have been astronomical and egregious overpays. I think they're hoping to find Charlie Mortons and Michael Brantley-types: cheaper upside with higher ceilings.
I’m mean I’m all for rebuilds but you gotta sit Watson for the season for his own safety then. That and trade Clowney for a pick.
Are the Texans rebuilding or are they competing for a Super Bowl now? How many of those existing players are the Texans likely to want to keep? How big a cap killer will it be with Watson off the rookie deal and Hopkins making big money? A lot of question marks. Personally I believe that ownership is satisfied not spending the money if no one is pushing them to do so. I believe Gaine deserves time to demonstrate if he is a good or bad GM/evaluator, but if they are not going to go all out to win with this group, then they are better off rebuilding and not sitting in neutral.
He’s not worth a trade. Still mad we couldn’t find pocket change for tevin Coleman who I think is a better all around rb than Lamar Miller.
They won 11 games last year. I'm sorry; but I could not disagree more. They've spent and spent and spent. That is not the issue. Have they spent *wisely* - that's the concern. Going all out is not required to win. They didn't go all out last offseason, were short their first two draft picks, and won 11 games. My guess is that they feel better about their in-house candidates along the offensive line than fans do. And they could be wrong, obviously - but I trust they know better. They see these guys every single day. Also, who's to say they're not going all out? There's still talent available; they could trade; they could make big moves in the draft. I guess I'm going to have to say this until I've run out of oxygen: you don't win championships because of three days in March.
Excellent pass catching back, would fit right in. If Foreman returns to form we could have a nice three man attack
at some point I think we trade Merciless for a more valued asset, he's worth more elsewhere than here. If you could get a couple of draft choices, one higher one lower, I'd trade the lower for Duke, a fifth maybe
I like Yeldon, if for only his pass blocking skills. But he also a good receiver and can also be a good insurance policy in case Miller gets hurt (happens often) or if Foreman doesn't successfully return.
