It also says that for every two-way player that is added to the roster the minimum inactive roster increases by one, I read that as cancelling it out.

that's so weird. I never would have thought that a trade could become official the day after the trade deadline.

I think they’ll sign Danuel House Jr. tomorrow, especially since a future deal isn’t getting traction and there isn’t a better option in the buyout market.

When the Rockets made there deadline deals they went to 12 players. If that happens you have two weeks to sign players to get to the minimum of 14 players. Trade deadline was two weeks ago.

Hopefully they can work out a deal with House by tomorrow for spot #13. For spot #14 they should consider giving 10 days contracts to several of the Rockets legends so they can travel with the team (no intention of playing in any actual game) and that will be a good marketing move. There are about 50 days left until the end of the season so they could give out five 10 days contracts to 1) Yao 2) Hakeem 3) Clyde 4) Tmac 5)Mutombo?

I think deadline was to submit the paperwork. It didn't become official until NBA review the paperwork on the next day.

Procrastinate much? Good god. Are they really going to wait until the final minute to sign enough players to fill out the mandatory roster size? Literally saving every possible nickel. Don’t give an extra day of salary to whoever the new guys are. Lol

What happens if you don’t fill out the roster? Do you get fined? If so, does the fine count against the luxury tax?

The deadline for completing a trade and the deadline for cancelling a trade (e.g. failure to appear or pass physical), I assume are two different dates. That is, you have (what is it?) 48 hours or 3 days to cancel a trade.

So, yeah, maybe the day to fill your roster is 2 weeks after all sides have waived their right to cancel the trade(s).

Right. Trades aren't official until the "Trade Call" with the league is complete. I guess the trade deadline is just to get your paperwork in and request the Trade Call (which the league office can postpone until the following day), but I just assumed the official day would still be Feb 7th, and seems like everyone else did, too....Feigen, Albert Nahmad, bima?
