@ths balla , I have a Mazda 6 GT with the tech package etc....that I've now had for 2 years, and I love it. Only thing I wish is that it had the new turbo engine. But it's been a great car, comfortable, great MPG (over 30), and it's a great looking car IMO. Recently got the wife a Mazda CX5 GT (SUV). Both have the heated leather seats, (upgraded to Android auto via dealership) infotainement system, HIDs etc.

The Mazda 6 GT has a HID light system that moves when you turn the wheel, to light the inside of turns etc. It's a nice car, for a relatively low price for the features, and one of the best looking cars in its class.

We ended up getting both of the cars from Texas Direct Auto. I was going to keep my truck, but they gave me a very fair offer for it so ended up trading it in when I got the 6. Both vehicles had low mileage.

My dudes... I just saw a Mecum auction and a mint 1991 ZR 1 sold for 16.5 -- I thought these were 40k cars. Is this real life?

The classic car market is tanking. It's a baby boomer thing.

A lot is going to change very quickly when that market starts losing capacity to spend and/or dies off. A lot.

Those things regularly sell for $20k or lower.

Interesting. My late brother-in-law restored a Ferrari and cleared $80K when he sold it, so I believe you.

I haven't seen that - I have seen the 96 Grand Sport consistently at that price though.

Admittedly, I don't know what condition they're in, but I see one on Autotrader right now for $24.5, and on Autoblog's search, there're about 7 of them for sale with 2 under $18k and another 2 under $25k. There are about 2 or 3 @ $35+, though. You probably saw the one you said was $16.5 at Mecum's Kissimmee auction earlier this year? There were about 7 or 8 ZR-1's that sold at that auction. One from 1991 had a high bid of $15k and didn't sell.

When you said you saw a 1991 ZR-1 sell at Mecum, were you talking about the Kissimmee auction? Because I see a 1995 that sold for $16.5k. I did see a 1991 sell for around $18.5, though.

Most of these cars sell for whatever anybody wants to pay for them at the time, to be honest.

ZR-1 is a classic. The LT-5 that was a power horse back then is probably not something you really want.

Any thoughts on going with a Credit Union vs personal bank when securing a car loan? Also, there a specific Credit Union or bank ya'll suggest?

If only the prices on 90's Japanese cars would drop.

Automatic supra's with close to 100k miles for $40-60k.
Mitsubishi Evolutions and Subaru Sti's selling for their original prices
Honda S2000 still in the $15k+ range with 70k mileage.
Integra Type R's going for $20k+

Those are the people who are in the late 30s to late 40s who probably have a lot of free cash to blow on stuff. Those are the cars they grew up with.

Yeah I've read/ heard the 240 hp LS from the 80's is the engine to go with -- reliable, huge aftermarket, etc... In fact I believe it's still available as a crate engine rated around 350 hp.

The first year of the ZR-1 is the really valuable one assuming low miles and clean - first year obviously, but it also visually identifiable.
