I wouldn't like it, but hey...checks and balances.

Optics, they're only authorized to have 40,000 currently, but have significantly more than that because well, that's how government works, this agreement won't change that.

    Lmao

So roughly a little more than the Toyota center to Galveston seawall.

What a joke. So 1933 mile border, roughly 650 miles already fenced, and the whole fiasco to end up adding 55 miles of fencing, for a total of roughly 705 miles fenced out of 1933 miles.

    Seems legit.

Its both way less money and fewer miles of new fence than he was originally offered and turned down a long time ago. But the deal provides what he vaguely demanded... a "downpayment" and "more barrier... what ever you choose to call it". Americans will be watching closely... they now see Democrats and republican congressional leaders coming to an agreement in advance to the deadline for a another extremely unpopular government closure. trump will have to assume all responsibility for another even more unpopular government closure, thus handing a huge boost to Democrats (and losing whatever increase in approvals trump had this week).

It's extra pathetic when you think about the fact that Trump's entire campaign was built around this.

LOL... house minority leader mccarthy trying to spin this as a trump win... lets see if we can see why its so funny (hint, look for bolded sections)...

McCarthy says Dems gave into Trump on border wall
    https://thehill.com/homenews/house/429589-mccarthy-says-dems-gave-into-trump-on-border-wall

That all said, maybe mccarthy is trying to get trump to approve the agreement by tricking him into thinking he won?

It was also built on erasing as much of Obama's work as possible (check) and putting people who have no idea what they're doing into important government positions (check bigly).

Those are pretty much SOP for every new candidate party switch.

The wall was different though. That was as much a part of his campaign as "hope" or "change" or "yes we can" was to Obama.

For it to go down in flames like this is absolutely humiliating. Of course the Trump camp have no shame so it will be lost on them, but most people with two functioning brain cells or a soul see it as the crushing defeat for the emperor with no clothes that it is.

Is trump going to veto it? Is he going to shut it down?

TIL per Mr. Trump we have already started building a big, giant, beautiful wall along the mighty Rio Grande.

The Rio Grande is the fence, don't you know? Now Trump just needs to finish it by putting drug-sniffing piranha in the water.

Look, the "wall" is never about the wall. The wall is about making Trump voters feel better about Trump.

The art of the deal. Fantastic. Longest shutdown ever and he's left with a worse deal than what he started with.

Cue trump crazies calling him the next Einstein.

Sounds like Sean is building a ladder to help Trump climb down from that wall he found himself on.

Why? They literally listen to anything he says. He can just sign it, declare victory like he always does, and get out of this whole thing unscathed because the folks who will laugh at him for failing don’t get listened to by his degenerate base due to the fact that they’re “fake news”.

    Everyone wins.
