Let the virtue signalling commence. Ron Perlman has decided who he is voting for and it is Kamala Harris.

Ron Perlman says Kamala Harris already has his vote for 2020

Actor Ron Perlman said Wednesday that Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) already has his endorsement and “entire heart” ahead of the 2020 presidential election.

In a “major announcement,” Perlman tweeted that he was taking all of the “beautiful, faithful, visionary citizens that committed to voting for me in 2020” to use as support for Harris “as our next president” in the coming election. “Ms. Harris, you have my endorsement and my entire heart!" the former “Sons of Anarchy” star continued.

A vote for Kamala Harris checks all the virtue signalling boxes. Don't be surprised to see her get a lot of support from the Hollywood crowd and anyone on the left who is trying to win favor with the "Political correctness" crowd.

If she is the Democrat's nominee to face off against Trump in the general election, you will not vote for Kamala Harris?

Yup but it is almost GOOD for their movement. Extremists want lots of discord, it is usually is needed to make them get enough of the vote to matter.

So I could see the Cortez wing of the party go 3rd party if their interests are met. Four more years of Trump may be enough to push the volatility enough to force the democratic party to nominate a radical.

    Nope.

I vote Republican about 25% of the time as it is.

I wouldn't vote for Trump either, I would like vote for a third party candidate.

You're projecting, these are the central components of Republicans' campaigns.

Here comes Bernie and according to the Huffington Post, he is going to enter this race in a stronger position than many people were expecting:

Bernie Sanders Set To Announce 2020 Presidential Run

Three years after fighting a surprisingly competitive Democratic primary race against Hillary Clinton, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is making another run for the White House.

Two sources with direct knowledge of his plans told Yahoo News that Sanders, an independent and self-described “democratic socialist,” plans to announce his presidential bid imminently. While Sanders has been mulling a bid for months, one of the sources said he was emboldened by early polls of the race that have consistently showed him as one of the top candidates in a crowded Democratic primary field. In particular, the source said Sanders was heartened to see numbers indicating he is one of the leading candidates among African American and Latino voters, two groups he was perceived as struggling with in 2016.

The source also alluded to a spate of recent polls that show Sanders as the most popular politician in the country. They attributed Sanders’ strength in the polls to the base and name recognition he built with the prior presidential bid.

Much of the establishment mass media appears to be lining up behind Joe Biden, like the good little Democrat party soldiers that they are. But can Joe Biden inspire a Democrat left base that is howling for a combination of race politics, unrestrained name calling and insults towards their adversaries, and of course the economic "equality" of Bernie Sanders socialism?

This is going to be the last campaign for both Joe Biden, if he does in fact run, and also Bernie Sanders. And for a number of other candidates for this nomination as well. Bernie has the fire in the belly, and he sure can fire up the Alexandria Ocasio Cortez wing of the party, that is for sure.

Can Bernie lure in more centrist leaning voters to support his candidacy this time around? In order to win the Democrat party nomination for President in 2020, he is very likely going to have to.

sounds like he intends on running as the White Candidate . . . and here he seems to be tooting all the appropriate White Candidate dog whistles:

"In a Democratic Party that is increasingly deriving its energy—not to mention its votes—from minorities and women, Sanders remains a critic of identity politics and a firm believer that issues of race, while important, are not as salient and determinative as those of class. 'There are people who are very big into diversity but whose views end up being not particularly sympathetic to working people, whether they’re white or black or Latino,' he said. 'My main belief is that we need to bring together a coalition of people—of black and white and Latino and Asian-American and Native-American—around a progressive agenda which is prepared to take on an extraordinarily powerful ruling class in this country. That is my view. Many of my opponents do not hold that view, and they think that all that we need is people who are candidates who are black or white, who are black or Latino or woman or gay, regardless of what they stand for, that the end result is diversity.' He hastened to add that 'diversity is enormously important,' but there was a bigger goal: 'to change society and create an economy and a government that work for all people.'"

More Biden news, apparently he was paid $200k by groups including Fred Upton's family foundation to give a speech praising Fred Upton! which helped Republican Upton win re-election. oh what tangled webs we weave.

"The speaking contract for Mr. Biden’s October appearance in Michigan suggests that the popular Democrat would have known he was addressing a Republican-leaning crowd. The speaking series was underwritten in part by organizations connected to Mr. Upton’s family: Among the biggest sponsors listed on the Economic Club’s website are the Whirlpool Corporation, which was co-founded by Mr. Upton’s grandfather, and the Frederick S. Upton Foundation, a family charity named for the same man.

"The contract for Mr. Biden’s visit shows he was paid $200,000 for his appearance, including a $150,000 speaking fee and a $50,000 travel allowance. It also specifies that the audience would be 'primarily older, conservative Republicans and local community members.' The document was disclosed in response to a Freedom of Information request made by America Rising, a Republican group that conducts research on Democratic candidates.

Interesting news on Harris: she "slept her way to the top":

"Kamala Harris, that vaunted self-righteous feminist candidate who's using her 'year of the woman' chops to challenge President Trump in 2020, has a little problem: She slept her way to the top.

You know, the mistress thing, not exactly moving on up based on hard work or merit, that little advantage of good looks (President Obama called her the 'best-looking' state attorney general), employed to their optimal practical use. Her political patron, former lawyer to pimps, Mayor of San Francisco, and State Assembly Speaker Willie Brown, admitted he helped her get her political start, writing in his bloggy San Francisco Chronicle column:

That is kind of like the inverse of the #MeToo movement, isn't it? It will be interesting to watch and see how these howling hypocrites respond to this realization.

That will be used as a cudgel against Biden by some of his primary opponents. I wonder how the Democrat base will respond to this?
