So I decided to take my friend to Steak 48 in hopes of running into James Harden or Austin Rivers (or both). We ordered: The seafood tower Deviled eggs Mac and cheese (pictured below) Mashed potatoes (pictured below) DOMESTIC WAGYU BEEF PRIME CUT (pictured below) Multiple glasses of Macallan 21/Rare Cask Although I am currently getting paid minimum wage, I have no regrets about the exorbitant price tag of this meal. This meal was absolutely delicious. From the service to the atmosphere to the plating of my food (they plated it for me!!!), I have no regrets. I also didn't see James or Austin.
How much was the Macallan part of bill...? And was $758 before the tip? and lulz at whiskey becoming such a Millennial trend, that ppl order it with steak instead of wine (that’s not directed at you, nor really a criticism of taste)
I seriously thought that was Chick-Fil-A nuggets and Chick-Fil-A sauce in the upper part of that screen.
Whiskey with steak? eh.. I went last week, bill was around 150. Filet Mignon 12oz 53 Petite Filet Mignon 8oz 48 Roasted Sweet Potatoes 9 Roasted Brussels Sprouts 12 Glass of Cab 20 Steak was excellent. Service was good. Place was lively. I didn't go overboard with Mcallen's or Wagyu.
It certainly looks delicious. Wagyu beef quality is a real thing. I would have paired with a wine and maybe had the liquor before the meal. I don't know how much of it you had to make the bill worthwhile. Also, the value would be increased if you actually saw Houston Rockets there.
Making minimum wage and splurged on a dinner for almost 800 dollars? That is about a whole month’s pay (after taxes). Hope it truly was worth it man.
minimum wage? what happened to you, breh? You are not using your UH education as you should. Spent too much time hitting on 8/10 girls in college, brah?
I will say that if you are going to spend that kind of money, go all out and get the A5 Kobe beef at B&B. They are only one of 9 restaurants in America that get to serve it. Be ready to pull out your checkbook, though. It is $55/oz with a minimum purchase of 4 oz. That said, it is definitely one of those things to have before you die.
