The only other forward on this roster you wouldn't be nervous to put on the floor in a major playoff series is PJ Tucker.

We need Tucker, House, Ennis AND a better wing. Even if we get an excellent wing via trade, we need House too. This is not a situation where we were good and now we can just swap out one piece.

Why do we assume it's Tilman's shutdown of House? Did he make a statement to that effect? It's the Rockets' shutdown. They have a GM.

You are either all in or you aren't - Tilman is proving to not be all in.

It's one thing to let Ariza go because he's way overpaid

It's another to actively hurt the team by letting a quality player sit in the G League because you don't want to eat a slightly bigger tax bill

How many more of these kind of moves are on the way?

3rd year in the league is extremely false logic. He hasn’t experienced 3 years in the league. And it isn’t even close. He hasn’t even played enough games to qualify for one full regular season. Play 1 game in a year does not make you a player for one year

In case you feel like watching, these are videos of all his offensive possessions in each of these gams (i.e. makes/misses/other):

Better for analysis than a highlight video imo.

    https://www.houstonchronicle.com/sp...lbag-How-will-Rockets-fill-their-13627988.php

    Q: Need this week's Danuel House update — O.K.

A: Averaged 16.7 points on 34 percent shooting and 19.2 percent 3-point shooting in his three games since rejoining the Vipers once his allotment of NBA games were up and he turned down the Rockets' contract offer.

Nothing seems to have changed in his or the Rockets' position. He wants to be a restricted free agent this summer, even if it means making G League money and riding G League buses for a few more months. The Rockets want him to take their offer of three years, $4.2 million. The Rockets have filled the minutes he could have played at small forward, but it is understandable that people still think he could help out as a backup four.

Those are some AWFUL statistics. Hope he trends upward, otherwise no point in bringing him back.

This is only happening because of the history of success stories from guys that were; picked up by Morey (on the cheap), signed to extensions (on the cheap), and turned into players that outplayed their contracts i.e. Chandler Parsons, Patrick Beverly, and Kyle Lowry etc.

I can't believe you guys are backing him, when we have so many bloated contracts as it is on our roster. Yes, we need to keep developing and acquiring talent but at what cost? Just like everyone's argument of James Harden only having so much of his prime left... you can end up in worse situations by throwing Maurice Taylor and Stromile Swift contracts for players that don't necessarily move the needle without a proven superstar to elevate their skillsets.

Do we know the guarantees are on our deal?

3 year 4.2 million sounds a lot better than 3 year vet min partially guaranteed .

And I expected his shooting to be bad in his early returns ... it almost always is .

Unfortunately, I'm not confident he can get back in form quickly .... which is why I was not a fan of letting this dispute play out .

Why should Danuel House pay for the Rockets' overpaying of other players? He and his agent know what the offseason free agent market is. The Rockets signed him to the 2-way deal rather than a multi-year deal like they did with guys like Parsons-- which maybe they could have at the beginning, but they didn't likely because they didn't think that much of his talents until he showed them, and also because Tilman is cheap. Danuel House is just exercising his contract rights, as are the Rockets.

The difference is Danuel House is doing the logical thing for himself knowing the likely offseason free agent market. The Rockets are doing the best thing for themselves if they value $ over winning and preserving the stamina and health of key players like Harden, Gordon, Tucker, etc.
