I wonder if CF would be opposed to a CP3 for Westbrook trade if it involved Rockets giving up multiple 1st rounders.
http://tradenba.com/trades/ryrlaZ7eN https://tradenba.com/players?tid=11&tid=16 Paul/Satoransky Harden/McGruder Porter/House/Green PJ Tucker/ Clark Capela/ Nene Ability to play a lot of small ball with Porter at the 4 or even the 5. I think this is something that could really balance out our roster and are realistic. Washington with Eric as the ability to trade Beal and has Porter's equivalent money off the books a year early. The Rockets end up saving $2 million next year if they let Tomas walk. Porter fits exactly what we do. Eric has been amazing off the bench and has basically done everything we need for the past 2.5 seasons, but we are so lacking a real starting small forward we need to do what we can. I truly think Eric is the best player in this deal, he just doesn't fill our biggest need. His contract is also the best in the deal. He's significantly under market value. We get out of Knight's contract without giving up a pick this way and we get the SF that we so sorely need. Melo to Miami makes sense. Wade wants his buddy. They may only be willing to give a 2nd and that's an option too. This team wouldn't necessarily compete immediately but it would set us up for success over the next three years with Harden/Capela/CP3/Tucker/Porter as the core.
Porter is intriguing as a player but his contract is so awful. I don’t think I’d be willing to part with Gordon in a deal for him. Knight, Chriss, and Nene for Porter would be interesting though.
I totally agree about the Gordon piece, but Knight, Chriss and Nene won't get DM anywhere close to acquiring Otto Porter.
Knight, Melo and MCW + 2019 lotto protected 1st for R.Lopez and J.Holiday Clears out Knights contract, and our scrubs for two solid bench pieces.
Houston trades: Knight, Chriss, Melo, Nene, 2019 1st Houston receives: Crabbe, Davis, Holiday Brooklyn trades: Crabbe, Davis Brooklyn receives: Parker, Melo Chicago trades: Parker, Holiday Chicago receives: Knight, Chriss, Nene, 2019 1st (HOU) Houston does it for depth, shooting and rebounding. Davis is an elite rebounder - tops in the NBA in offensive rebound % and #2 in total rebound %. Holiday helps with our ever evolving SF rotation. Crabbe is a proven knockdown shooter. Brooklyn does it to rid themselves of Crabbe and better position themselves for FA this summer. Parker’s deal is a team option for next year. Losing Davis’ value contract is the price they have to pay to dump Crabbe. Plus, they have little to play for this year so Melo’s coming home feel-good storyline works. Chicago does it to get something to show for free-agent-to-be Holiday and rid themselves of the Parker situation.
Knight, Chriss, 1st round pick for Lin, Dedmon Nene, 2 2nd rounders for Oubre Paul, Harden, Oubre, PJ, Capela Lin, Gordon, Ennis, Clark, Dedmon
Whiteside+Dragic+Johnson+Ellington and future first for Capela+Knight+Gordon+Chriss+Melo and 2 future seconds Whiteside/Nene/Tucker/Johnson Tucker/Johnson Harden/Ennis Dragic/Ellington/Green Paul/Dragic
Our starting 5 are playing too many minutes. We need some role players. I am worried Harden going to hit a wall come playoffs with all the minutes adding up.
ESPN wants the Rockets to get the worst player. They are too scared that our guys will knock the Lakers out cold if they get a good player.
Yep. When the Rockets beat the Lakers last Thursday, the TNT guys (I know you said ESPN, but they're all part of the Lakers Brotherhood) mentioned nothing of Harden's 50 point triple double during the half of the second game. Probably still smarting from Harden, you know, being completely constructed by the referees----no real talent of his own, right? If LeBron had got the 50 point triple double the narrative would have been, "LeBron adds to his legacy. Question: Is LeBron the Second Coming of Jesus? Chuck, you go first." But the Rockets.....meh. Not much of a story. Lakers fans all upset. Including Ernie, Chuck, Shaq, and Kenny.
