D'Antoni to open pizza shop; Hakeem Olajuwon is new Rockets coach.

I thought he was bad in game 7 for not calling a time out and continuing with the 3 point shooting contest strategy when it wasn't working .

Not making any adjustments is a problem. If Mike Dantoni was in baseball he would never have any relief pitchers and tell his starter to throw fast balls down the middle, EVERY PITCH.

That’s fair to disagree, but don’t accuse people of being misinformed based on your own misinformation about whether they watched the game or not.

I saw a lot of ISO that wasn’t working, and mental/physical fatigue that did them in

Was referring to Ennis as the scrub not PJ. Overall though I agree Cp3 has been worse but capela has been great this year which should make up for some of his shooting woes and lack of production.

My point was that this year we have a glut of Ennis, House, Clark, Gerald Green playing serious minutes and last year it was Ariza, Luc, Gerald Green (better version) and Ryno. There isn't much to debate when you compare the 4. The latter of the two could each individually give you 10 points on any given night and we saw it in spurts when one of em was off. You can't at all expect anything from a very average NBA player in Ennis who just isn't a smart basketball player and to add with that 2 rookies who have consistently put 0 on the board.

No one is saying he is blameless. Who’s more to blame though?

Players that are inconsistent or the coach who can’t go on the court and play.
Sub for who another player that can’t shoot as well?

He's still better than McHale. But that doesn't really say much.

Revisionist history at its finest. If Anderscrubson wasn't so bad Morey wouldn't trade him away for a bust and an injured player. Dude was always the biggest factor why the Rox kept losing in the playoffs.

Now he is so bad he is shooting 20% 3 pt and on his way out of the league. What a scrub.

Agreed . We could hire John Lucas or JVG and I'd be very happy . I want someone that makes the players play hard .

At this point it's obvious guys aren't playing hard for MDA .

And if they are hurt ..., guess what you shouldn't have brought them back so early .

Give me JVG. Grind this game to a screeching halt.

Anybody clamoring for JVG is crazy.

Maybe a different coach would be better. But not JVG.

Also surely now we all recognize we’ve got what we’ve got with Harden. The good (MVP) and bad (dribble dribble no defense turnovers).

The bad thing is that even if he is canned no good replacement will come in until next season. Because supposedly it will look like a coach was lined up (knowingly) taking another coaches job. So look for another JB type remainder of the season.

Plenty of good coaches out there. Just get someone that doesn't give a ____ about analytics and cares about scoring the ball.

I wish we cared about scoring the ball period and not so much how we score. I feel like our whole thing is...we complicate basketball.

2 pointers are fine if you play defense...this whole 3 or nothing, layups or nothing, it's just ugly. It looks great when they are falling but when they don't literally any team can beat you.

Nah don't put Pop and D'antoni in the same class. This rockets team is whole and healthy. Pop is missing his All Defense Point Guard so that's part of the reason why the defense is so bad. Also the Spurs have drafted well with their young players. Also Lonnie Walker is a stud and should make his debut soon he's a two way wing that will help with the defense. Both teams are bad right now but the Spurs future is brighter than the Rockets.

analytics are factually correct - it's a question of how you apply them. most threes are better than most twos. doesn't mean every three is better than every two and it doesn't mean just attacking from three and the rim is the best way to create efficient shots. balance is key. that's what we're missing. nuance to the offense
