We are talking about bringing in jr smith to help win games 2 months into the season. Hmm. Never would have believed that in October. This is a clear sign of just how bad the trade market is right now for teams looking to buy. I cant say that without saying teams looking to rebuild, now is the time to start. It seems the rockets are thinking of doing knight and a pick for j.r. Smith. Terrible trade if it is this years pick which im sure its not, but the cavs want it to be.
2019 pick has incredible value. No one says yes here. JR himself has a negative trade value. He is only worth 3 million a year. He is overpaid by 12 million this year.
The issue is JR's contract is more valuable than he is at this point. It was signed under the old CBA so they can trade it for more than the guaranteed amount next summer. Basically they can trade JR for a $15 mil player and the receiving team can then buy him out for the 3.8 mil. That loophole was eliminated in the new CBA. I'd try to get JR + Hood and/or Nwaba if I was Morey.
I agree. Hood knows how to beat GS. Dan Gilbert is trying to take advantage of Tilman by raising his asking price.
