I love how everyone assumes how easy it is to get a projected #1 pick on your team. How exactly are we going to do this? If we make a trade before the deadline and get the first round pick from the team projected to finish last, we'd still only have a 25% chance of drafting #1. And if we make a trade for the #1 overall pick any time after the draft lottery results, that team is going to gut us. Your best case scenario will be having Harden + Zion on this team...and 10+ scrubs. That's not a championship team.
How long before he's 300 pounds? At the age of 29 not giving much effort or staying in shape plus with the rockets not having many assets or much flexibility, it may worth just tanking.
Harden needs to reevaluate his game and his predictable linear game style that forces one way of playing before contemplating leaving for another team because he will find the same problem there also. Like every great before him, he needs to expand his game.
If he wants out then send him out now. He has been doing damage to this team as well. We might have a shot at Barrett or Zion without him here and we could get great pieces for him while he is still in his prime.
Harden is the second greatest Rocket of all time but god damn is his offensive game the most gimmicky and spam heavy I've ever seen from an NBA player. It makes it hard to defend him as a Rocket fan when debating general NBA fans.
Didn't I say he is the second greatest Rocket of all time. His ts is great. He's an efficient scorer. But with the league adjusting their defense, Harden's play style will get him numbers but at the detriment of having a very predictable offense that will stagnate and have long droughts due to the predictable nature.
If that were true it would show up in the advanced stats, which they don't, dude is 2nd in rpm. Harden can adjust to almost any offense like CP adjusted with us last year, they are HOF players. He was off ball in OKC quite a bit. Our offense isn't complete garbage like you think it is, we are still top 10 in the league. I agree it needs work though, we need to add more to it and it's up to coach to adjust to whatever the defense does.
It’s not true. We put up one of the greatest offensives in nba history last season with Harden and THIS offense. After the shittiest of starts to this season we are again top 10 in offense. Not to mention our offense even before CP3 has been tops in the league. Clutchfans is so freaking good at zeroing in on something as a problem when it’s likely the last thing we should be worrying about.
what we can realistically hope to get for him? would you trade him for 2 years of anthony davis? how about Tatum Brown and 2 FRP?
I'm not willing to trade Harden untill we can see what a prime Capella and Harden can do when CP3's contract is offloaded in a few years a and a more competent roster can surround them. Let's see what they can do from there and let's hope Harden decides to work on expanding his game and becoming really dedicated to his diet and conditioning so hr can be elite and effective into his 30s.
I’ll take that Boston package, maybe sit CP the rest of the year and have CP-Brown-Tatum-Zion-Capela next year.
