But that doesn't really mean much. I believe Coogler had scheduling conflicts with the filming. Maybe he did have some input but who knows how much. Now I know Steven Caple is Coogler's boy and he co-signed Caple taking over so it made me more at ease with whatever Sly might do with this sequel.
Is it still cool to complain about love stories in movies? They were both great in their parts and it got that awesome scene with the dickish rapper getting punched.
My problem was how obviously tacked on and unnecessary it was. He met her in the most generic way, and unlike Adrian, her character was pointless. He was working out his relationship with inner demons, his past, with Rocky and with his family. Adding in a " I'm not being gay with this old white dude, it's not that kind of relationship" girlfriend was a waste of time. Without her the story would have been the same, and his character arc would have been the same. The movie loses 20 minutes (It was over 2 hours long) and becomes perfect.
No need to be jealous, just hit the gym really hard for 3-4 hours a day and eat a carefully regimented high calorie diet for 6 - 12 months. Easy!
I can't effing wait for this movie! Easily my most anticipated movie....especially after Rian Johnson ruined Star Wars.
Pretty much. This was the Creed family redemption story and the loop closer on Rocky/Drago and they missed the mark. This could have been legendary. It's an OK film, but could have been great.
I personally liked this film. I thought they did a solid job with all the subplots. Everything tied in together nicely. I mean, what are you expecting to happen with a film like this? No one is wining an Oscar this deep into this series. Still, I liked it more than I thought I would. It works for me.
