Due to a huge oversight in my other thread I've decided to pit two former Rockets players against one abother to claim the title for best wing defender in Rockets history.

Shane received the most votes in the previous thread but MadMax got much deserved love in the posts.

It should be mad Max. Most people on here are probably too young to know who he is, but that guy was relentless.

    Mad Max

Battier was the smarter player but if you want me to pick either one at their peak I'm going Mad Max.

Vernon. He was a dog out there. It didn't always show up on the stat sheet.

Vernon easily. The other teams players were actually afraid of the guy. Nobody is afraid of Battier karaoke boy.

    Maxwell hands down.

Maxwell could hold down what most people say is the greatest player of all time.

Battier just tried hard but was his defense really that good? I don’t think he’s anywhere close to best perimeter defender in Rockets history. I always felt he was overrated. He was a better team and help defender than individual defender.

All perimeter defenders I think better than Battier.

    Maxwell,
    Elie,
    Ariza
    Tmac,
    CP3,
    Rafer,
    Chuck Hayes,
    Even Clint Capela,
    Robert Horry,
    Kyle Lowry,
    Ron Artest,
    Eric Gordon,
    Luc Mbah Moute
    PJ Tucker

Players who could be better with more games.
    Gary Clark
    James Ennis

I voted Max but now you are undervaluing intelligence.

Battier made the team better period and he did that everywhere he went.

CP3 in his old age improved our defense greatly despite that I thought Beverly was better one on one defender of the two.

    BBall IQ matters.

    Mad Max.

I remember the last year Yao played, we were in the conference semi finals and Battier couldn't stop Kobe a bit. Kobe scored like 38 every night

Who is the last Rocket wing defender to be named 1st team NBA All-Defensive team?

Hint: You won't like the answer.

Mad Max used to give Jordan fits.

Kobe used to roast Battier and his hand in face defense.

This one is a non-contest if you actually have watched both play.
