I am trying to improve my vertical jump. I have been reading many websites, watching lots of youtube videos etc. trying to learn everything I can about it, and of course I have been training.

I have a pretty good grasp of the basic overall fitness disciplines (leg/core strength, flexibility, explosiveness) necessary.

I am hoping to find more specific and 'outside the box' tips and tricks that have worked best for some of you personally.

It could be specific exercises, specific stretches or muscle groups to target. Helpful foods/supplements or other nutrition aspects. Mental focus/visualization etc. techniques. Rest and recovery tactics. Form/technique tips. Anything insightful or unique.

    All help is appreciated!

I don’t know man. All I have is, work your calves. Work your quads. Work your core. I think how powerful your downforce on the ground is, helps propel you up.

The best I ever did was dunking 9 feet 6 inches. Not sure if it was legit 9 6. But imma go with it.

    Curls. All curls.

But really, the usual leg workouts like squats and lunges are key for pure strength. It’s not sexy but they work. Then add plyometric routines to help with explosion (jump rope included). You can also mix the two, for example after you finish weighted squats do 10 body weight squats with a jump or jumping lunges after your weighted lunges set.

People like to focus on calves but you need big muscles incorporated to get you big air.

Long story short. Get stronger and jump more

Get closer to the equator because gravitational pull is greater there.
