Well yeah, because there's no reason for it. No one can place him at a party with Dr. Ford and he already gave a sworn statement on the issue. The Democrats just wanted yet another person to attack since they know they don't have any real dirt on Kavanaugh that will stick. They were hoping they could make Judge look really bad and use that to bash Kavanaugh with....you know make the process more of a circus than it already was. It was rightfully shut down.

Which "credible" allegations are you referring to? The ones with zero evidence to back them up? The ones that have more exculpatory evidence than not based on the witnesses listed by the accuser?

There have been zero interviews regarding the incident by the witness/accomplice/participant listed by the accuser. So until that happens, Kavanaughs drunken friend's statement that he wrote with his lawyers isn't really exculpatory.

Hate to burst your bubble, but between trump, and now kavanaugh, the truth is liberal leaning...

Kavanaugh's first statements after being confirmed to the SCOTUS have been leaked

"I know what it's like to lose. To feel so desperately that you're right, yet to fail nonetheless. It's frightening, turns the legs to jelly. I ask you to what end? Dread it. Run from it. Destiny arrives all the same. And now it's here. Or should I say, I am. Fun isn't something one considers when ensuring several decades of sanity in the Supreme Court...but this... does put a smile on my face."

LOL, oh no? How about the sworn statement of literally everyone else that was supposed to have been there, including one of Dr Ford's close personal friends? Do they need to be interviewed before we can use their statements too?

Seriously??? You just want to ignore that literally no one that Dr. Ford said was there remembers any such event happening including her friend who appologized to her for stating the truth? You are being incredibly naive.

Ford's lawyers (who let's face it, work for DNC/Feinstein), withheld from her that she could be interviewed in California (they wanted the TV kangaroo court show trial)

Honest question: are Dr. Ford's attorneys on retainer from the DNC or Feinstein? Trying to separate truth from talking point / innuendo.

While I believe something shady or manipulative could well have happened within Feinstein's staff ranks, I think the optics are sad: It's kind of like, hey b****, if you get in the way of our hyperfast ramming of Kavanaugh into the Supreme Court, we're going to make things really uncomfortable for you.

Punishment for any attempt at checks or balances -- that's kind of the take-home message, sad to say. #MAGA, indeed.

Let's be honest, not even considering his problems with rape, alcohol, temperament and telling the truth while under oath, it's telling that on a purely academic level, the Federalist society's best and brightest is probably the least qualified nominee since Harriet Miers or fellow Yalie Clarence Thomas

For a real investigation, yes. If it is window dressing to back up what you've already decided, no.

No one would do a full on investigation into baseless allegations, there would have to be significantly more evidence before any level of investigation was done.

I don't want to ignore anything. Those statements are great places to start for the interviews which will hopefully be able to give us more information.

    What I do know is:

    1. that Democrats and the accuser actually wanted an investigation. The Republicans and Kavanaugh did not.
    2. Kavanaugh has lied under oath multiple times. Kavanaugh lied about his activities in high school and college.
    3. Kavanaugh acted like a bully towards women of the Senate and spoke to them differently than he did the men of the senate.
    4. Kavanaugh did not exhibit judicial temperament during the hearings.
    5. The person who was named as a witness/accomplice/participant wasn't allowed to be interviewed despite the fact that Democrats wished to interview him.

Kavanaugh may not remember assaulting Ford. But it is clear he feels the need to lie about his behavior during that period of his life.

It is possible that with women that he didn't place into the "usable" category, he was very respectful and nice.

It is possible that women with whom he interacts with while sober and on a professional basis, he is the perfect gentleman.

It is possible while all of those things are true, he also behaved inappropriately and did things that would qualify as sexual assault while he was drunk.

That would make sense given his lies about his behavior and actions. He may not remember specific incidents so doesn't remember assaulting Ford. But he definitely is hiding something about his actions at the time. He has demonstrated that he treats women differently than men.
