For what it’s worth, the Westbrook effect is real. Try playing basketball with a guy that’s constantly trying to do it all on his own and you get cold from standing around. The shots you can make when you’re in the flow of the game no longer go in.
That’s why Oladipo, Kanter, Durant, Sabonis, Harden, etc, etc have all gotten so much better immediately after leaving OKC.

I think his opinion is that Melo's ego will cause more trouble than his playing ability is worth. I don't agree, but... I can see where that argument is coming from.

I definitely don't see him getting bought out. But I also don't see him playing crunch time minutes against the Warriors in a game 7. So.... it's a push.

 

Does he mean cut? Can u imagine how bad Melo would have to be this year that it gets to the point that he’s cut from the team? Things couldn’t possibly get that bad.

I hope Morey is able to acquire a defensive wing so Melo can be pushed into a bench role. I don’t have high hopes for him in the playoffs after watching him be absolute trash on both ends in last year’s series against Utah. He was a liability defensively against Utah, yet people think he would’ve helped us last year against GS.

 

Never liked Bill Simmons. He DOESN'T REALLY KNOW NBA BASKETBALL. He doesn't know the game from a X's & O's perspective. All he does is stir up drama & focus on guys personalities. He's not a true fan of the game

 

It doesn't really matter. The Rockets signed him at a minimum deal. It's a risk they can afford to take. If he doesn't work out they can easily cut him and sign somebody else during the buyouts.

I tend to believe Melo can contribute to this team, but again, if he can't it won't be a big loss.

 

In SI’s rankings released just recently, Westbrook is 7, Paul George 11, Steven Adams 38. That’s on par with the Rockets top guys. Now why did one team win 65 and the other 48?

Westbrook takes way less crap than he deserves, or he gets way too much praise for his methods relative to his results. His style simply does not correlate to winning.

 

Those rankings are pretty nuts. So we are supposed to believe that the rest of the nba teams have 35 top guys spread out to 29 teams. The Thunder should be winning no less than 55 games if it were accurate.

I hope he ends up in Golden State to ruin their chemistry... or the Lake Show just for entertainment purposes. I want Melo off this roster. NOW.

While concerning, the truth is, the Rockets never seem to get the benefit of the doubt with the national media. When Chris came over, it would never work because we had two ball dominant PGs. They were proven wrong. When we were playing mediocre basketball and not tanking the way they were in Philly we were criticized for not choosing a true rebuild path. We traded for James Harden and the rest is history.

I'm completely fine with the media taking us lightly, it's what we've been accustomed to even during the Dream years. Underdog is literally our middle name. So, f**k em.
