The dude simply doesn't want to work for his roster spot. You can see it in Hard Knocks. He basically cried when he was running 2nd team reps, even though he never showed the ability to start. He's soft. Real soft. That entire Landry speech was basically directed specifically at Coleman. That's basically the story on all Baylor receivers. Never really as talented as the system makes them seem, and are typically guys that haven't fought for anything in their life.
You realize that Bailey only hit 75% of his FG's last season right? I mean, there's a reason why he was let go. Fairbairn is a considerably better kicker and he's only 24 years old. You might as well be saying that you wouldn't be sad if Nuk Hopkins was let go because the Texans could pick up Dez.
Didn't know that. I wonder what's up with him? Even though he seems to have been around for ages, he's only 30.
Might be me being optimistic, but I feel like I’ve seen a lot of the cliff notes of our new acquisitions are the fact that they are good special teamers. I’m kinda pumped about that prospect.
Houston Texans Keep Five UDFAs On First 53-Man Roster After a flurry of cuts and several surprising releases, the Texans have recently finalized a 53-man roster that contains five UDFAs. This is the most we have kept in a long time. What may be most surprising is the manner of which they chose these UDFAs. Vyncint Smith dazzled in the preseason and upset Braxton Miller to be the sixth wide receiver on the team. Punter Trevor Daniel wrestled the job away from potential Hall of Famer Shane Lechler in the most underappreciated position battle in all of training camp. Then, over the weekend, when waiver claims began for players recently cut, A.J. Moore, Natrell Jamerson, and Buddy Howell were added to the active roster as the Texans had a fortunate waiver wire position (fourth, based off the 2017 season).
Has anyone picked up Lechler, Braxton Miller or Charchare? I might have missed Char to practice squad (hope so).
I honestly think it's because Keyes and Gilchrist were in the 225-230 pound range and they wanted someone closer to Mckinney's size at ILB. Kalambayi looked good in the last preseason game at ILB and is over 250 pounds. Cole and Cunningham are both around 240 so they fill the role of smaller and faster cover ILBs.
