Apples, in general, suck. But I did like the honeycrisp I tried that one time. My biggest problem with the apple is that when you go to the grocery store, there are like 800 varieties of the damn things taking up half the produce section. Give it up apple - you ain't all that!

I grew up with apples and pears. Both fruits taste and textute completely depend on being properly ripe.

When a pear is ready, the taste is second to none. Perfectly sweet. The texture is soft and juicy. So juicy that one or two sticky drips runs down your chin. Combine that with the sensual shape of the pear and you have one exhilarating food experience.

Apples, again once properly ripe, are quite tasty and extremely edible. One can easily find themselves 3 or 4 apples deep in a single sitting. In addition, as far as grab and go food they are straight cash. Great nutrition, no mess, just a core which is quite fun to chuck.

I get a few honeycrisps a week and throw them in the fridge. Fantastic.

But a pear at peak ripeness when it’s super tender and just packed with juice is probably the best fruit fruit you can have.

Durian is the best by far. That smelly kidney shaped fruit that has the look, consistency and smell of a rotting human organ is irresistible.

I never understood why people liked Red Delicious. Granny smith, Gala, Fiji, and basically every other apple variety I've tried is better.
Asian pears are also my favorite pears.

Millenials appear to be getting everything right.

Apricots, peaches, blackberries, literally anything other than an apple/pear.

If its an apple, fuji by a mile. Then a mile ahead of that is an Asian pear, like others have said.

LOL. This guy in another food thread trying to peacock again, like people care (waiting for the "I was drunk" apology post).

    IMHO RD’s are bland!

    1.) Honeycrisp
    2.) Jazz .... name sucks, apples don’t!
3.) McIntosh ... early in its season
4.) Gala ... easiest to find
    5.) Fuji

(P.S) @Carl Herrera screwed the pooch in this thread by not having a poll to identify CF’s favorite Apple! :(

Red Delicious are the Hooters of Apples. Only MAGA Trump voters eat them.

I must be weird because I love Golden Delicious. It's a bit softer than the others, which I like, and still plenty sweet.

The only Apples that Millenials buy are iPhones.
