Well, she's a Latina, and she's new to politics, and not deeply informed (yet, I hope), and she's all over the media, so she's a punching bag of the right.
Youre overthinking. Its the same reasons we discussed in the Pelosi thread. She's a great boogeyman to attach the whole party too and plays along with the narrative/trend of the Democratic party being very urban. Its an effective way to discredit dem politicians in swing states/districts. More importantly, its also good fundraising. Ever see the West Wing? They touch on it an one episode where Josh alludes to not wanting an extreme pro-life, social conservative to be upset in an upcoming district because he's great fodder to rally the base and raise money. If you're on the fence about voting GOP or giving money or you soured on Trump or McConnell sneezed in your soup etc. being able to link the opposition to a young, far left candidate with little experience who is from New York is an excellent way to remedy that. Its New York city; if a ******* bagel won the Democratic primary the GOP wouldnt trot out a candidate because there's no Republicans in that district.
I think most on the right are so called "obsessed" with her because they would love for her to become the new face of the left. Not only would her bat crap crazy politcal views be a huge vote drive for the right, if we have to see a face for the left plastered everywhere, she is much easier on the eyes than Pelosi or Schumer. Believe me we hope she is here to stay.
Let's not get carried away. She is like a 5, maybe a 6. She only seems attractive in comparison to the bridge trolls who normally run for congress.
Didn't read the OP but Liked it because of using AOC instead of the full name. No offense to her full name, but reading it all is taxing on my sad brain. It's why I have a 2-syllable-max rule for my daughters' names.
