You have to give up either Morree or Harden, who do you pick?

Since I don't know who either morei or moree are, I'd definitely give them up instead of Harden. With Harden in place and our GM Morey we can definitely build something special.

So screw that morei guy, whoever he is.

 

How was Morey doing before he got Harden? He was about to risk it all for Pau Gasol.

Who can I replace Morey with in this hypothetical?

 

The harden trade is a once in a life time event. The Pau Gasol trade would have been a positive move regardless

Also had Dragic. Which meant Lowry would've been traded for Toronto's pick when the Rockets had to decide between the 2 PGs. Which meant he still would've made the Harden trade.

I don't get why people are saying this is a dumb thread. This is a VERY tough choice. You need transcendent players to win, but you need a good GM to put pieces around your stars to succeed. Without Harden Rockets go no where. Without Morey, Rockets go into basketball purgatory of tanking, bad top draft pics and trades.

I would give up Morey only because I've seen Harden win with garbage players and coaches. Rockets would have a chance to win with a mediocre GM with Harden as the star.

I'm only giving up Morey because there is already a star in Houston. If there was no star I have no doubt Morey would have a plan to get a star. Morey has built contending teams from the ashes of Yao's broken feet and TMAC's 1st round exits.

Morey was doing pretty well considering what he had to work with:

• Battier
• Ron Artest
• AB, Landry plucked from the 2nd round.
• Luis Scola
• Goran Dragic
• Lowry plucked from Memphis bench

Thanks to Morey Rockets only had 1 year of rebuilding before Harden.

I chose to give up Morey, but put some respect on his name.

 

This is already a DMo thread. It is about Daryl Morey and Harden.

This is actually a really good debate.
Would you rather have 25years of an elite GM like Daryl

Or

5-8 years of a superstar like Harden.


On one hand, you have a higher chance at sustained success w a great GM.
But it is harder to get a Top 5 player than find a good GM.

Thank goodness we have both.

 

Clutchfans seems to think if you put two instrumental likable Rockets figures against one another hypothetically it's a troll thread. I also think it's an interesting Sophie's choice.
