So in Game 1 Rockets went for 45 ISO plays, more than any teams did in the last 5 years. For the season, Rockets only averaged 22 ISOs per game. I hope Rockets go back to what they do in the regular season that win them 65 games. No more 45 ISOs!
I wish nick was able to finish his opening thought and not get cut off. Forget where I heard it, maybe on @The Cat ‘s Locked on podcast, but Harden was something like an insane 1.67ppp in isolation, cp3 was something like a great 1.24ppp in isolation, and the entirety of all other offense we were something like 0.87ppp. Isolation. Was. Not. The. Problem. Ignore this stupid narrative of teammates are disengaged because not touching the ball. This has been the M.O. all season long...
Klay is a better ATHLETE than Harden>>>> LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CC just said that... I am willing to bet a very large amount of money that Klay Thompson WOULD NEVER lead an NBA team to the playoffs by himself. PERIOD. Harden in his FIRST year by himself took the Rockets to the playoffs. This absurdity needs to really be called out on. People really hate on James way too much. If the Rockets play much better and win tonight, what are these idiots gonna say next? James, Paul, and the Rockets...please make these idiots shut up.
Exactly. All these pundits who are calling for the Rockets to change who they are at this point of the season don't know what they are talking about. Then you can see and hear some of our own players questioning the system (just like these pundits), the same system that won you 65 games, instead of playing like they belong, fulfilling your role and playing in the character that that system instilled. To me, the game 1 loss was more psychological than anything. The team was too hyped, which led to early fatigue. Then, when the Warriors started to punch them in the face, the Rockets wilted. Now they need to remember the rhythm they played with all season, the rhythm that had them dominate opponents all year, yes, even these unbeatable Warriors.
I'd say we need to get back to running, the way we did when we played the warriors during the season before we slowed down and started going more half court. They gonna get swept if they do what they did in game 1. We don't need an entire game of hot sauce and the professor making an And1 mixtape and ****.
"45 ISOs in Game 1, the most in any game, regular season or playoff, by any team in at least five years." Dayum. Yeah, we might need to work in some of that other stuff that we did this year, too.
Agreed. Also, the fact that Klay "never complains" or whatever. Uh, when you're playing with 3 players who have won awards and are considered to be the best at what they do (Curry, MVP, shooting / Durant, MVP, scoring / Draymond, DPoY, defending), what's there to complain about?!
We need to run more to try to get easy buckets. We need less Luc and more Gerald Green. We can't stop the Warriors, so we have to try to out score them. Right now we are bringing a knife and a bullet-proof vest to a gun fight and getting shot in the head. If we are going to play Clint and Nene, then have them post up to take advantage of the death lineup's lack of size.
