That's interesting. I hadn't thought of it that way. If they have Baker and Darnold rated very similarly and would be okay with either one then why not take Baker if it gives you a better chance of snagging Saquon at 4 (if that's who they would want at 4 instead of Chubb).
Kerryon has a little bit of that Le'veon Bell type of vision when he's in the backfield. Not that he's guaranteed to become the next Le'veon Bell, but he definitely has a similar type of running style.
They just need to get the QB they want IMO. Making the decision based on what might happen after is the main reason why they're still looking for a QB.
Darnold should be #1 imo. Browns would make another mistake drafting Mayfield 1st. Hopefully, for them, Barkley is still there at 4
I really don't think they can lose this time around. They would still be able to get one of the top QBs at #4 If they went another direction at #1.
If they really want Barkley AND Darnold/Mayfield; they need to take Barkley first. Even though it is weird to take a RB #1 over a QB but this almost guarantees they get the player they want.
Well they are guaranteed to get at least one of the players they want. Going with a QB at least gives them a shot at Barkley, think the Jets are guaranteed to take a QB and Giants could very well go with one as well or Chubb. But going with Barkley likely means going with their 3rd choice at QB at #4 (assuming they have Darnold and Mayfield ranked #1/2).
I refuse to believe Giants pass on a qb. When’s the next best qb class? 2-3 years from now? Eli was horrible last year.
Eli was horrible with a weak o-line and no running game. If i'm them, I take Barkley (or Chubb if he's gone) and Rudolph or Lauletta in the 2nd or 3rd.
Are there any teams out there with a servicable to good LT that might be getting up there in age but can still play for 2-3 more years? Or a LT that is about to hit free agency next year. Or a team with a young up and coming LT that can provide the same level of play but a lot cheaper than their starter? Why not trade a third this year and a second next year for a proven LT. Fair price?
Browns are in a good spot. Take the QB you want, and then Barkley. If Barkley is gone, you take Chubb, or Quenton Nelson.
