Two UNC guys. Both long, both can block shots and finish around the rim, and both are VERY similar to Capela in playing style.

Ed Davis is going to be an unrestricted FA after playing with Portland this year AND I strongly believe the Rockets will bring back Brandan Wright on a 1-year deal if that knee of his proves to be healthy and ready to go. These are two of the most perfect backups to Capela I can possibly imagine given what the talent level generally is for backup bigs in today's game and knowing the type of style with which each of these players perform.

yeah if wrights rehab goes well enough, i believe the rockets will bring him back especially with it being a cheap deal. him rehabbing with the rockets, shows that they're likely his first choice. also ed davis isn't the worst backup either if that became an option. he wouldn't command a big salary

    Wright, Udoh, even McGee.

But prefer Nerlens Noel. Still young, long, explosive, switch D-rim protector and most importantly, undervalued.

Nerlens would be an incredible get but we can’t offer the playing time or salary he could likely get elsewehere.

We gotta make sure we can keep CApela first. Our backup center will be 6’8 versatile defender.

Not going to be a FA and not worth trading for given his salary.

No to McGree, just don't think he plays the right way IMO.

I want a beast who can knock somebody driving the lane on their butt! Idc if they cant sink a shot more than 2 feet from the bucket...

Every other roster spot can be about spacing and the 3 ball and all that...

but we need a situational enforcer down low - GG cant be everywhere ;) lol

Teams with a big front line can out muscle us down low - like the Spurs did last year, Portland the other night (even though we won), your AD/Boogie type combo, etc... Now if the 3s are dropping for us - great 3>2... but if they aint, we need someone slowing down the easy buckets by bigs at the rim...

CC has length and quickness and is a good rim protector... but if a big guy puts his shoulder into him - he's moving... we need someone that wont budge and can dish out some physical punishment...

"Early offseason"? Only losers have early offseason. The Rockets will play until June.

What happened with him in Dallas? Didn't they trade a 1st for him and they benched him and barely played him. Seems odd. Character? No defense? Injury? I mean i know he barely played due to injury but when he had the chance, they barely played him and his per 36 are still impressive especially considering that'd he'd be Capelas backup.

I guess i'd prefer someone more reliable. Wright would have been perfect, but i also want a big true C to throw at big lineups.

Hometown Emeka Okafor another option too.

Davis would be a good get but unless you're willing to pay a good portion of the MLE (if not the full amount) there's no chance you can sign him, who would you sign with that money between Davis and Luc? I'd say keep Luc.
