To put that in perspective. Houston would need to go through Texas, Michigan, Duke, Villanova, North Carolina and Kansas to win the national title. I like our chances!
Great win tonight. Rob Gray and Galen Robinson had some crazy finishes around the rim. Wichita State tomorrow on CBS. Jim Nantz will be announcing.
Great win against a team who had us figured out on both the offensive and defensive end, and we still dug in, and took it back. Pushin and Pullin. The Cougars movin on to Sunday!
Most impressive to me was that for the first time I recall, it was a big game, and Rob Gray picked the right time to carry the team on his shoulders and then went out and did it. I mean 33 against a top 10 team is legit hero. Against a tall athletic defender too. He has put the team on his back before, but always against second tier competition. And he did miss the game winning three, but everything else, he just took over. On both ends too. Watershed. He looked like James Harden out there. Team was dying and he said give me the ball. And he took it.
I honestly don't care about the result of today's game, as long as we play them close. A loss today will keep them humble and hungry going into the first round of the tournament. On the other hand, a win and AAC title would be nice.
Hope they win today because players don't remember the regular season wins much when it's all said and done, but they carry with them the rest of their lives these 3 game tournaments. Those are memories that last even though the ncaa game has changed quite a bit. One half to go!
