Question for anyone who might have frequented Numbers (the club) in the late 80's

You ought to try a girls restroom in any strip-club in Houston. You want to talk about nasty.

I used to love watching the carnage on the big screen while the place was industrial rocking.

I also liked nickel beer Wednesdays. :)

Didn't spend much time there, but I think I saw The Judy's in the 80's and I saw Ben Folds Five for the first time there in the late 90's.

Another time we were on the way there to see....I don't remember....but I do remember getting arrested for pissing behind the stop and go on Westeimer and Montrose....and spending the night in jail.

    Good times.

I saw the Judy's open for the Go Go's we stayed for the Judy's and left when the Go Go's were halfway through their set.

Haha...so many good songs and memories from Numbers, funny when this thread shows up. I guess the last two concerts I saw at Numbers were Lords of Acid and Nitzer Ebb. I guess that was maybe 10 years ago or more.

Didn’t 6400 used to be Hippo’s and Fizz before that. It’s been so long that I’ve forgotten. I was a regular there at Numbers, NRG and Powertools from 86 to about 90.

I used go to Mecca on Wednesday nights when it was laddies night full of college girls and free beer upstairs until the keg went empty. Fun times!

This is the guy I was trying to remember for the Numbers documentary thread -- looks like he hasn't been around for a few years.

Well it's in Edo bc I can see the Maggot Colony/Fransisco in the left background. Not sure is that right next to the Axiom? And what was the after-hours spot that is now a Wendy's parking lot under 59 in midtown?

Haha, did any of your bands ever rent rehearsal space there? We did for a very short while - until a couple of rats scurried across the room during one of our rehearsals. We had/have girls in the band, so that didn't fly as you can imagine. We were at Sterrett Street less than a week later. What a dump that place was.

I lived there almost everyday, woodshedding drums in that 'hit hole from about 04-14 but once I got into electronic music and started doing my own recordings up there I started getting bad shocks from all my gear; did all kinds of trouble shooting and got it down to the old wiring in the building. Ending up moving out soon after..

I lived stayed there all the time too from around 05-16. Had a few different rooms on the 2nd floor. We must have crossed paths at least once or twice. I hated when the built the stadium next door (as well as all the other Eado BS gentrification). That neighborhood was a perfectly nice hellhole, and they ruined it. However, I will never miss the smell of old piss, and those MF'n German cockroaches all over the place.
