Shut up, you twit. It "twit" a racial slur? I'm not sure what offends people nowadays. At any rate, is it even possible for a non-Mandarin round-eye speaker to try to speak that language and not mangling it, ending up offending someone? I don't know.
He definitely did not mean to say it, but he did say it and probably has used chink before - probably recently. Does not look good for him. NBA chink fans in China, what does that have to do with wishing a Happy New Year in Chinese?
Didn't even sound like a slip of the tongue..sounds intentional but who knows but him....very bad look regardless
The thing that makes you want to believe it's a slip of the tongue or garbled wording is that he's saying it to a camera for an official greeting. Why would he do that? Because he didn't know the word was offensive or he's so racist privately it just slipped out? I have no clue. Very odd.
Sounded deliberate. Didn’t sound like he misspoke. He probably uses the word in his regular life and he just instinctively called Chinese people what he’s always called them. His tongue twisted lie doesn’t even make sense.
Couldn't even half ass a real apology. And this will get swept under the rug again + Asians will be blamed for not sitting down and shutting up. I remember what happened with the Yuli incident and the Chink in the armor incident.
oh please stop it. When were Asians ever attacked for voicing their opinions? Yuli was suspended and the guy on ESPN was fired. What else do you want to happen? Do you want them jailed?
Could have been thinking “thank Chinese” in his head and ended up as “chank” What shady stuff has he done in the past? I’m unaware, so just curious.

Not once did he say "I'm sorry" or "I apologize". He actually put the blame on the people that were offended..by saying he was disappointed in those who misinterpreted his actions and blowing it up. We should be disappointed in him, but he turned it around.
Standard sensitivity in todays world. Pretty sure most people don't even know "chink" is a bad word(that's why it got past video editors). Soon 50% of the words will be "forbidden" like that so nobody gets offended.
Lol? Literally just want an actual apology. Way to make assumptions though. Didn't excuse the amount of people desperately trying to justify/rationalize and sweep those incidents under the rug and act like any concessions made were unfair to Yuli and the ESPN reporter. Not once did I mention I wanted him suspended, jailed, fined, etc.
