[BBall Breakdown] Is Harden's stepback legal?

Have always respected Ronnie Nunn... he was usually very fair.

Great to see him here with Coach Nick defending Harden's stepback.

This should put the matter to rest, but I doubt it.

 

Here's another couple of videos to support that it's not traveling... The important thing is that he doesn't hop and land on the same foot. So if he hops off the right foot, then the left foot has to be the first foot to touch the ground.

I was originally under the impression that it WAS traveling, until I saw these videos and it made sense to me.

Harden Step Back Examples:

 

Coach Nick is always high on Harden coming out of that LA connection. Probably coached (against) him while Harden was at cerritos high. However, Westbrook not so much, even though he is from LA too. Coach Nick said in one video that Westbrook has low BB IQ and relies on out of control moves too much.

 

Kerr knew exactly what he was doing. Look at all this attention it's getting. I expect Harden to start getting more traveling calls as the NBA continues to seek out ways to nerf him.

 

I appreciate Coach Nick doing this, but it sucks that the very existence of this debate validates that weasel Kerr.

 

Yep I hate the attention this is getting. I fully expect the refs to clamp down on this legal move. Sigh. If this happens adios NBA

All kidding aside, it will be interesting to see what happens on national television tonight. Harden isn’t going to shy away from that move... and if they try to call it, someone is getting tossed.

That's a sure sign that this newest anti-Harden campaign is fundamentally flawed.

 

the league would show its cards out in the open. i don't think they're that dumb, as they still need to maintain a facade of legitimacy
